My CEO HUSBAND sign the divorce novel Chapter 301

Chapter 301: Two pairs of blue eyes.

Just then, my phone rang. Herbert.

"Alexander."

"Herbert. How is the investigation going?"

"Just as you instructed. We’ve questioned all the staff and identified a few people whose behavior has been suspicious, but we still don’t have any proof."

"And you? Do you suspect anyone?"

He was silent for a moment. "I do. She was particularly active on the day of the incident and has been acting strangely ever since."

"Keep watching her," I said.

"Of course. I’ll call if anything turns up."

I was about to end the call when he spoke again.

"What about Alicia? Aimy is recovering, isn’t she?"

"Yes. She’s doing much better."

"Has anything changed with Alicia?"

I let out a quiet sigh. "I can’t say yet."

A brief silence followed.

"Well, I hope you haven’t forgotten our agreement. If she decides not to stay, you won’t force her—or you’ll have to answer to me."

The protectiveness in his voice brought a faint smile to my lips.

"I know," I replied softly. "I won’t keep her against her will."

"Good."

The line went dead.

I stared at the dark screen for a long moment.

I had promised not to force her. I had even convinced myself that I could accept it.

But one question remained:

If Alicia chose to leave again... could I truly let her go?

Alicia’s POV

After breakfast, Aimy insisted that we wait for Alexander in the living room. He had promised to draw with her, but Alexander had always been the sort of person who worked even on weekends, often shutting himself away in his study for hours. I doubted he would be able to leave his work.

"Aimy, why don’t we draw together instead? We haven’t spent much time doing things together lately," I suggested, hoping to distract her.

She shook her head stubbornly. "No. I only want to draw with Uncle."

I crouched beside her. "But Uncle is busy right now—"

"There you are. I’ve been looking for you."

I looked up at the sound of Alexander’s voice. He was coming down the stairs, a staff member following behind with a large box in his arms.

"Yay! Uncle!"

Aimy ran to him, and he scooped her up effortlessly.

"Shall we start drawing?"

She nodded eagerly.

The staff member set the box, filled with coloring books, sketch pads, and crayons, on the floor. Alexander helped Aimy settle onto the rug before sitting beside her, patiently guiding her tiny hand across the page.

I stood there for a moment, watching them.

I remembered the countless weekends when Alexander had remained locked away in his study, refusing my invitations because he was too busy. Yet now he left the office early for Aimy’s checkups and spent his free time drawing with her.

It was a side of him I had never imagined seeing—not with me, and certainly not with our child.

I had become so absorbed in the scene that I barely noticed Maria step beside me.
