My CEO HUSBAND sign the divorce novel Chapter 314

Chapter 314: A little personal.

After searching for a while, I finally found a shirt that covered my shoulders. It wasn’t enough to completely hide my neck, but I didn’t have much of a choice.

After changing into the T-shirt and a pair of trousers, I applied a little makeup, just enough to cover the marks on my neck. I had never really been the type to wear makeup around the house, but today I was thankful I’d brought a few essentials with me.

Once I was done, I returned to the bedroom, only to find a new message on my phone.

It was from Alexander.

"Awake already? I had to go to the company to take care of something, but I won’t stay long. I’ll return home early.

Hope you’re feeling alright. I asked Maria to get you some painkillers just in case you need them.

I already checked on Aimy before leaving, so there’s no need to worry.

love you. Take care."

I read the last line over and over again, almost unable to believe it.

Alexander had told me he loved me.

And...

I’d told him I’d forgiven him.

The weight of everything suddenly came rushing back as I realized what had happened.

I had chosen not to go through with the divorce.

I had chosen to stay with him.

To stay here in Velaridge City with our daughter instead of returning to Rosewood Town.

I read the message again, and heat instantly rushed to my face.

What exactly had he told Maria happened to me?

And how was I supposed to face everyone?

Sure, the room was soundproof...

But at some point, I was certain I’d been much louder than I intended.

It had been so long since I’d been with anyone that somewhere along the way, I’d completely lost myself in the moment.

Taking one last look in the mirror, I adjusted my makeup again to make sure the concealer covered as much as possible before taking a deep breath and leaving the room.

The concealer did very little to hide the bold marks, but I convinced myself it was enough.

Still...

Every time I passed a staff member and they greeted me, I couldn’t help feeling their eyes linger on my neck.

Perhaps...

It was only my imagination.

As I descended the stairs, Aimy’s cheerful chatter drifted from the kitchen.

A smile found its way onto my lips as I followed the sound.

When I stepped inside, I found Maria and Aimy sitting side by side at the kitchen counter while Maria patiently listened to Aimy’s endless stories.

Seeing the two of them together made me smile.

Maria noticed me first.

"Alicia, you’re awake."

I nodded.

Aimy immediately turned around and tried to jump off her chair, but Maria quickly helped her down.

Without wasting another second, she ran over and wrapped her little arms around my legs.

I crouched down to her level.

"You woke up late, Mummy."

She blinked those big blue eyes at me innocently.

"Why didn’t you come and wake me?" I asked, lifting her into my arms.

"Daddy said Mummy isn’t feeling well."

"Really?"

I raised an eyebrow.

She nodded seriously.

"Well..." I smiled, kissing her forehead.

"Look. Mummy is feeling much better now."

She beamed happily.

I placed her back on the chair before taking the seat beside her as Maria served my breakfast.

"Thank you, Maria."

I began eating while gently encouraging Aimy to join me.

Halfway through the meal, Maria returned carrying a glass of warm water and a painkiller.

"Mr. Blackwood said you might need this when you wake up."

As she handed it to me, her eyes briefly drifted to the concealer on my neck before a faint, knowing smile appeared on her face.

Heat instantly rushed to my cheeks.

"Thank you, Maria."

I quickly swallowed the painkiller before looking back up at her.

"Maria... could you arrange a car for me, please? I need to buy something."

"What is it?" she asked. "We can simply have the driver take one of the staff to get it for you."

I hesitated.

"It’s... a little personal."

"I’d rather get it myself."

She studied me for a moment.

"It’s a little personal," I repeated, feeling even more embarrassed.

After thinking for a few seconds, she reached for her phone.

"Let me inform Mr. Blackwood...."
