My Deceased Wife Wants a Divorce (Hannah) novel Chapter 534

Hearing Hannah’s question, Samuel paused, seemingly confused by what she meant.

“Well, since there’s no proof of who kidnapped Sandra, shouldn’t we investigate? That way, we can find out the truth and know which of them is lying,” Samuel said.

Hannah, noticing his confusion, smiled and rested her chin on her hands. “This is their mess, so they should be the ones to investigate it, not us. Honestly, I don’t really care about the truth of the matter. They’re the only ones who do.”

Hannah’s words were a revelation for Samuel.

That’s right. The person who most desperately wanted the real culprit exposed was Lionel, not them.

Why should they waste their time, effort, and energy investigating something that had nothing to do with them?

If Lionel didn’t want to be framed, it was up to him to do everything in his power to find the truth.

Realizing this, he silently gave Hannah a thumbs-up. “I should’ve known you were a step ahead. Look at me, getting all eager to do their dirty work for them.”

“Even if he does investigate, there’s no guarantee he’ll uncover the truth. For all we know, he really did kidnap her, and this has all been an act from the start.”

Hannah said, “Frankly, I don’t care whether he investigates or finds evidence. Even if it really was Quennel who kidnapped her, so what? Am I supposed to get into a fight with Quennel over Sandra?”

“Who is Sandra to me? What does she have to do with me at all? I should be celebrating the fact that she’s been beaten half to death, not getting angry about it. Anyone who didn't know better might think I have some special relationship with Sandra, that I need to avenge her kidnapping.”
