My Deceased Wife Wants a Divorce (Hannah) novel Chapter 535

In that moment, he felt like he had never truly understood Hannah.

He had always seen her as a capable professional who was just a fool for love, someone who had now simply hardened her heart to get a divorce.

But he had never considered that for all these years, Hannah had walked her path alone. Betrayed by her husband and without the support of her family, she was no simple, naive woman. It was only love that had made her lower her guard.

Now that the love was gone, her sharp intellect had returned. His Hannah was never a lamb to be trifled with; she was more cunning than anyone.

It was a survival mechanism.

Hannah set down her cup, a wry smile on her face. “Let him investigate. He’s the one so desperate to get to the bottom of this. I couldn’t care less, and he wouldn’t listen even if I tried to stop him.”

“When he’s finally battered and bruised and presents his findings, so what? Sandra isn’t my lover, or my family. What does her life or death have to do with me? Why should I hurt Quennel, who has been so good to me, for the sake of someone so insignificant?”

Samuel finally understood completely.

He was right. Sandra meant nothing to Hannah, but Quennel was different.

Even if Quennel had drugged Hannah three years ago, nothing had happened between them. In a way, he had inadvertently helped her fulfill her dream of marrying Lionel.

So, from start to finish, his efforts were completely meaningless. Hannah had repeatedly told him she didn’t care, but he had insisted on pursuing it anyway.

“Hannah, what do you think will happen when he finally proves it was Quennel, tells you, and you just say you don’t care and still want a divorce? Is he going to have another meltdown and call you crazy?”

Samuel suddenly realized the terrifying possibility.

Hannah nodded. “Yes, that’s exactly the kind of person he is. He doesn’t even try to think things through, and he tunes me out completely. He just does what he wants and then tries to force his way of thinking on me, demanding I act according to his wishes.”
