My Deceased Wife Wants a Divorce (Hannah) novel Chapter 614

“Hey, how can you turn on me like that? What do you mean you don’t know me? We’re, at the very least…”

“Shut your mouth, do you hear me?”

Lionel cut Cherry off mid-sentence.

Samuel put on a thoughtful expression, looking back and forth between them. “Lionel, just tell the truth. Was she the one who told you about this? Are you two working together? How else would you know so much?”

As Samuel finished, Cherry’s eyes widened as she glared at Lionel, a silent warning not to tell the truth.

Lionel took a deep breath. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I barely know this woman. Didn’t you hear her? She just came to gloat. And I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

“Yeah, yeah, I don’t know what you guys are talking about either. Cooperating? I’m just here for the show.”

Cherry went along with Lionel’s story. “Your divorce was all over the news. When I heard he got beaten up, I thought maybe you sent someone to do it, so I came to check out the drama. I didn't expect to see you here. If I’d known you were coming, I would have stayed away.”

Hannah’s eyes darted between the two of them before she spoke in a low voice. “Lionel, you took matters into your own hands, stole information from me, and ruined my plan. I’m not letting this go. And if I find out you have someone else spying on me, you just wait.”

“Also, the divorce petition has been filed with the court. Our hearing is in two months.”

Hannah stood up, looking down at him from her full height.

Cherry’s acting was so masterful, worthy of an Oscar, that if he stayed a second longer, he might blow their cover. That would ruin all the fun.

Once they were gone, Cherry walked back into the room.

She pointed at him in fury and scolded, “Are you out of your mind? Why didn’t you text me that Hannah was here? Then I wouldn’t have walked in like that!”

Cherry was holding the bug, so Hannah and Samuel could hear their entire conversation.

“Now Hannah suspects me! If she starts keeping her distance and gets wary of me, how am I supposed to get any more information from her? I seriously wonder if you even have a brain. How could you do something so stupid?”
