At the Temple family estate.
The gate guard received a letter identical to the previous one and, in a panic, rushed inside with it.
"It's happening again! Miss Hannah, someone delivered another letter just like the last one, but it wasn't the same courier!"
Hannah and Samuel immediately came forward.
"Did you get a look at the courier's face?" Samuel asked eagerly.
The guard shook his head. "No, he was going too fast. For a second, I thought he was going to crash through the gate, and I almost called for backup. But then he just tossed the letter in and sped off."
Recalling the incident, the guard broke into a cold sweat and swallowed hard.
"The person was completely covered up, even wearing dark sunglasses. I couldn't see a thing. It was even more suspicious than last time. They clearly didn't want to be identified."
Samuel's brow furrowed, and he stroked his chin, lost in thought.
"Alright, thank you for your hard work. If anyone else suspicious approaches, detain them immediately. Don't let them get away!"
"Yes, sir!"
If only they could have caught this person, they might have gotten some useful information.
"Hannah, what does the letter say?"
Samuel walked over when he noticed Hannah's silence.
Hannah handed the letter to him.
The content was nearly identical to the last one, only the date was different.
"Hannah, do you think these people might actually know something about Aunt Cheryl? Otherwise, why would they try this again after what happened last time?"
And most importantly, what if Cheryl was in their hands? What if all this trouble made them angry enough to kill her?
At that thought, both Hannah and Samuel fell into a heavy silence, unsure of what to do.
"Where is Cherry?" Hannah asked.
"I'll call her."
Samuel called Cherry, and she returned within three minutes.
She looked at the letter and quickly grasped the situation.
"Go tell Lionel everything—but make sure he doesn't actually go. Pick a fight with him, get him furious and full of regret. He better crawl over here and apologize to me himself!"
Hannah was fuming. If she didn't hate the idea of facing him herself, she wouldn't have sent Cherry in the first place.
