My Great Escape Led Me to You (Emily Blair) novel Chapter 1296

Andrew: So, yes or no?

Benjamin: No. As much as I want you, I still want Emily more.

Andrew’s eyes grew cold.

It was obvious Benjamin was tempted, but the offer wasn’t enough to seal the deal.

Andrew decided to up the stakes. I’ll come to you. Emily doesn’t have to go back, but you have to promise not to touch her again. If you want to hurt someone, come at me instead.

When Benjamin read the message, his eyes narrowed. The knife he pressed against Emily’s pale arm stilled.

He looked up at Emily.

A deep red handprint marked her face, left by his slap only moments ago.

He grabbed her chin, turning her face side to side. He gave her a mocking smile. What is it about you? Tristan and Andrew, both of them are lining up to take your place, without a second thought.

Emily closed her eyes, blocking him out completely.

Benjamin had already cut through her jacket. The cold air stung her bare skin, and the blade rested against her arm, ready to slice through at any moment and let blood spill out.

She couldn’t pretend she wasn’t scared, but she finally felt a glimmer of hope.

Benjamin waited for her to say something, but when she stayed silent, he didn’t bother pushing her further.

Emily stayed quiet, bracing herself for whatever came next. But nothing happened for two long minutes, and then suddenly the cold blade lifted from her arm.

Benjamin slid the knife away.

She opened her eyes and saw him grinning strangely as he typed on his phone.

Benjamin had accepted Andrew’s offer without hesitation.

Mr. Lane, is something wrong?

Andrew’s voice was direct. Are you free right now?

Beatty scrubbed a hand over her face. Yes, I’m free.

I need you to handle something for me, Andrew said.

His tone was heavier than usual. Beatty snapped to attention. Go ahead.

In a minute, I’m going to put a tracker on myself, Andrew explained. You’ll connect your phone to it. My location will start moving quickly. Once you see that I’ve stopped, you bring them straight to me.

Beatty immediately understood how serious this was. She kept her voice steady. Who are they?

The people I hired. I’ve already sent you their contact info. Meet up with them. They know what to do. You just need to watch from a distance. Don’t put yourself in danger. If anything goes wrong, contact the chairman right away. Understood?
