Elizabeth arched an eyebrow.
Now that the danger had passed, she found herself thoroughly entertained by the messy love triangle unfolding before her.
Recalling how both Tristan and Andrew had risked their lives to save Emily tonight, she couldn't help but say a silent prayer for her friend.
One was an ex-lover—if he could even be called that—and the other was her current boyfriend.
Both men had gone to extremes during this kidnapping, and both were currently nursing injuries.
Navigating the tension between them and resolving this incredibly awkward situation would be a monumental headache for any woman.
Emily was no exception.
Elizabeth rubbed her hands together, practically grabbing some metaphorical popcorn.
Hearing Andrew's scoff from behind, Emily bit her lip and gently nudged Tristan's stomach. "Alright, let's talk when we get back. There are too many people around."
Tristan acted as though he hadn't heard a word, remaining completely still with his face buried in her neck.
Left with no other choice, Emily just kept holding him.
After a while, seeing they still hadn't pulled apart, blinding jealousy nearly obliterated Andrew's rationality. He had half a mind to march over and rip Tristan off of her.
He glared at Emily's back, his gaze turning icy.
This woman used him and cast him aside without a second thought. All she saw was Tristan.
What an utterly heartless woman.
Beatty watched the couple embrace, a fleeting smirk touching her eyes.
"It seems Ms. Blair and Mr. Davis have a very strong relationship."
She offered the casual remark, then turned to observe Andrew's reaction.
What she saw made her freeze.
His expression was colder and harsher than she had ever seen it, and swimming in his eyes was an emotion she recognized all too well...
Jealousy.
Pinpointing the exact feeling, Beatty felt a heavy weight settle in her chest.
Was Andrew actually jealous of Emily and Tristan?
She slowly balled her hands into fists, a sinking feeling taking hold.
She had severely underestimated Emily's place in his heart.
Hearing Beatty speak, Andrew tore his eyes away and snapped, "How much longer are you two going to stand there hugging? Emily is hurt. What are you waiting for? Get her to the hospital!"
That finally snapped Tristan out of his daze. He hastily pulled back and gripped her shoulders. "Where are you hurt?"
His hands clamped down right over the gash Benjamin had left on her arm, causing Emily to flinch and gasp in pain.
Andrew frowned deeply, looking like a disapproving patriarch as he lectured Tristan. "Didn't you know she had a gash on her arm?"
