My Husband's Affair My Anniversary Gift (Lily and David) novel Chapter 217

“Noah, where is Danish?”

Lily asked once she finished packing the last of her jewelry samples.

Noah was busy putting the jewelry back into their cases. She didn’t even lift her head.

“He’s in the guest room.”

“Already? Alright, I’ll go. Come after you finish,” she said while reaching for her handbag.

“Ok,” Noah replied with a nod.

Lily walked out of the workroom, her footsteps calm and steady, but her mind tired after the long event. She pushed open the guest room door expecting to see her son lying on the bed or sitting cross-legged on the floor playing a game on his phone.

Instead, her whole body stopped.

Danish wasn’t alone.

A man was sitting on the sofa with one leg crossed over the other, looking strangely at ease in a space that didn’t belong to him. His right hand rested on his lap. His left arm was stretched across the sofa. His posture was relaxed, but the air around him felt sharp.

David.

Lily’s fingers tightened around her bag. Her breath hitched, but she forced herself to stay steady.

Danish was sitting right beside him, legs swinging off the sofa, talking about something Lily couldn’t hear. And David… David was looking at her son with an expression Lily couldn’t read. His gaze was fixed, calm, almost cold, but too focused to be empty.

Her eyes traced Danish’s face.

She had seen it for seven years.

She knew every line, every expression, every smile.

But seeing him next to David changed everything.

Danish’s eyes were hers.

But his face shape… the jawline, the small details… that was David.

Her heart beat fast. She forced herself to breathe.

“Danish.”

Her voice came out softer than she planned.

Danish turned immediately.

“Mum!”

He jumped off the sofa and ran to her. Lily smiled and brushed his hair gently.

“Did you eat something?” she asked.

“Yes. I had noodles,” Danish said proudly.

“Good.”

Only then did she turn her eyes toward David.

He didn’t look at her.

He kept his gaze forward, staring at the wall as if her presence meant nothing. His face was calm. Too calm. No anger. No shock. No warmth. Nothing.

He was acting like she was a stranger.

Lily swallowed hard.

She had expect him to be angry. She was expecting him to shout.

But this emptiness…

This cold silence…

It hit her chest harder than she imagined.

So he already knew.

He knew Danish was his.

That explained his presence.

That explained why he sat so calmly beside her son.

Lily wasn’t scared. She wasn’t worried that David finally knew the truth. She had lived seven years without him. She raised her child alone. She built her career alone. She learned how to breathe again.

She owed him nothing.

Except one truth.

Seven years ago, after Marina pushed her and she nearly lost her baby, she panicked. She didn’t trust anyone. Not David. Not his house. Not anyone from that life. So she lied about the miscarriage. She walked away carrying her unborn child and the fear that if David knew, he would take the child away or trap her again.

She only wanted freedom.

And she wanted her child to be born in peace.

But one month ago everything changed.

She met Olivia in New York.

The only person from that world who ever showed Lily real warmth.
