My Husband's Affair My Anniversary Gift (Lily and David) novel Chapter 349

Jabco stared at her like he didn’t recognize her.

“You’ve lost your mind,” he said slowly.

“No,” she replied. “I finally found it.”

He took a step toward her.

“You think you can just leave?” he said, his voice low and dangerous. “You think this is that easy?”

She lifted her hand and pressed it against his chest, hard.

“Don’t come closer,” she warned.

Then she shoved him back.

He stumbled a step, more from shock than force.

“You know me,” she said. “You know if I dare or not.”

She had lived in a house full of shouting, control, and fear. She had watched a man who thought he owned everyone around him.

She will not raise her child in that kind of hell. He will never be rational about this marriage, Never. Everything with he is power, Ego and control.

She held his gaze for one last second.

Not angry now. Not shaking. Just cold and resolved.

A challenging look.

The kind that didn’t ask for permission.

The kind that promised consequences.

Then she turned.

She walked into the bedroom without rushing, without hesitation, like this decision had already been made long ago and she was only catching up to it now.

Jabco took a step forward.

“Riyana...”

The door slammed shut in his face.

The sound was violent. Final. It shook the walls.

He stood there, staring at the closed door, his jaw tight, his fists clenched so hard his nails dug into his palms.

Inside the room, Riyana leaned her back against the door. Her breath came out in a broken exhale.

Her legs felt weak, but she didn’t slide down.

She placed both hands over her stomach, pressing gently, as if grounding herself.

“I’m sorry,” she whispered. “I won’t let anyone hurt you. Not even him.”

Outside, Jabco didn’t move.

For the first time since he walked into that apartment, he felt it. There is no turning back now but he was sure on one thing he will never give her divorce.

Next morning, the CEO floor felt heavier than usual.

Nick knocked twice and stepped inside.

Jabco was mid video conference.

His posture was straight, his face unreadable, voice calm and controlled.

The kind of calm that came from habit, not peace.

Nick stood in front of the desk with a thick envelope in his hand, waiting. He already knew what was inside. That was why his throat felt tight.

A few more minutes passed. Jabco ended the meeting with a curt nod, closed the screen, and leaned back slightly.

“What is it?” he asked, reaching for the envelope.

Nick hesitated. Just a second too long.

Jabco noticed.

“What?” His eyes lifted, sharp.

Nick swallowed. “Boss… this came this morning.”

Jabco took the envelope, frowning faintly. Nick’s silence bothered him more than the envelope itself. He slid a finger under the seal and pulled the papers out.

The moment his eyes landed on the words, his entire body froze.

DIVORCE AGREEMENT.

For a second, the office went silent. No ticking clock. No city noise.

Just the sound of his own breath, suddenly too loud.
