My Husband's Affair My Anniversary Gift (Lily and David) novel Chapter 362

Rose leaned back in her chair, completely relaxed. Too relaxed. “He told me himself last night.”

Riyana’s fingers tightened around the cup.

“ We had a great night too,” Rose added casually, taking another bite of toast. “And he said he’s getting divorced from his wife.”

Something inside Riyana snapped, though she forced her face to remain still.

A great night?

Divorce?

Her mind raced, trying to understand what Rose was implying. She kept her voice steady with effort. “Who told you all this?”

Rose gave a small shrug. “He did. Obviously.”

Riyana placed her coffee cup down carefully, afraid that if she moved too fast she might reveal too much. “You don’t know anything about him,” she said sharply. “So stay away from him.”

Rose studied her face with interest, like she was watching a puzzle come together.

Then she chuckled. “You’re being strange again.”

Riyana did not respond.

Rose continued, her tone light but her eyes sharp. “It doesn’t matter whether I know him well or not. I will. In the future. And since he’s getting divorced, my way is already clear. Or… do you have a problem with that?”

The cup made a small but heavy sound when Riyana set it down again.

“Rose,” she said slowly, choosing her words carefully, “I’ve told you before. He is not for you. Stop being obsessed with a man who is completely out of your reach. And what makes you think he’ll accept you? He doesn’t like younger girls. And you believed him just because he said he’s getting divorced?”

He dare to say that? If he is getting involved with Rose why reveal their marriage?

But she immediately regretted how much emotion slipped into her voice.

Rose noticed. Of course she did.

Rose leaned back in her chair again, folding her arms. Her gaze stayed fixed on Riyana’s face. “There’s one thing I don’t understand about you.”

Riyana stayed silent.

“Why are you so insistent that he doesn’t like me?” Rose asked slowly. “Why do you keep warning me off him like this?”

She leaned forward slightly. “Don’t tell me… you have feelings for your boss.”

The words landed heavier than they should have.

Riyana’s chest tightened. “Don’t talk nonsense.”

“You reacted pretty fast for nonsense,” Rose said lightly.

“I don’t work for him anymore,” Riyana snapped. “And I have nothing to do with him.”

Rose smiled faintly, like someone who had just confirmed a suspicion. She stood up slowly, picking up her bag. “Since you don’t work for him anymore, then you don’t need to worry about it.”

She stepped closer to Riyana. “I already spoke to him. He invited me to his hotel today.”

Riyana’s eyes lifted sharply.

Hotel?

Why would he invite Rose?
