My Husband's Affair My Anniversary Gift (Lily and David) novel Chapter 372

Riyana looked around the kitchen, her eyes scanning the shelves, the fridge, the counter. She thought about what he liked. What he always chose without hesitation.

French breakfast.

His favorite.

She smiled to herself, a small determined smile.

“Alright,” she murmured. “That’s what we’ll do.”

She set her coffee aside and rolled up her sleeves, already planning each step in her head. It felt good. Doing something normal. Something warm. Something not driven by fear or obligation.

For the first time in a long while, the morning did not feel heavy.

It felt hopeful.

By the time Riyana finished making breakfast, the kitchen smelled warm and comforting. Butter, coffee, toasted bread, and eggs mixed together in the air. It was the kind of smell that made a place feel lived in, not just occupied.

She stood there for a moment, looking at what she had made.

The plates were arranged neatly. Nothing fancy, but everything was done properly.

The way she always did things when she cared. She wiped her hands on a cloth, took a breath, and turned toward the hallway.

That was when she saw Jabco.

He had just stepped out of the bedroom, still wearing casual clothes, his hair slightly messy from sleep. He stopped mid step when he noticed her standing in the kitchen.

For a second, he thought he was imagining things.

Riyana was in the kitchen.

Not just passing through. Not grabbing water. Not standing there with a phone in her hand.

She had cooked.

He stood there quietly, watching her. His eyes moved from her face to the table, then back to her again. The sight felt unreal. These days, she barely entered the kitchen. It had become his space. His routine. He was the one cooking, cleaning, making sure she ate. Even on the rare days when she made something herself, she never offered him any. She ate quietly and left.

This was different.

Very different.

“Sit,” Riyana said, her voice calm and normal, as if nothing unusual was happening. She turned toward the cupboard and reached for a cup. “Breakfast is ready.”

Jabco did not move immediately.

Her words took a moment to sink in.

Breakfast is ready?

For him?

His confusion deepened, but he did not question it. He slowly pulled out a chair and sat down, still watching her like she might disappear if he blinked too hard.

Riyana poured coffee into the cup and placed it in front of him. Then she picked up the plates and served him breakfast, setting everything down carefully.

Jabco looked at the food.

French breakfast.

His favorite.

He lifted his gaze back to her, disbelief written all over his face.

“You made all this?” he asked quietly, as if speaking too loudly might break the moment.

Riyana glanced at him briefly, her expression unreadable. “Yeah. Or do you see anyone else here except me?”

Her tone was the same as always. Flat, Indifferent and almost cold.

Jabco shook his head slightly. "No, that’s not what I meant. You didn’t have to do this. I can....."

He stopped himself.

He had been about to say he could cook, that she did not need to tire herself, that she should rest. He was worried she had put herself under stress again.

He did not want her forcing herself just because of him.

But before he could finish, Riyana shot him a sharp look.

“You want to eat or not?” she asked, her eyes narrowing slightly.

Jabco immediately closed his mouth.

“I’m eating,” he said quickly, picking up his coffee as if his life depended on it.

He took a sip.

The taste hit him instantly.

It was perfect.
