His lips were softer than I thought they’d be, and his shoulders were smooth and firm.

For a moment, he didn’t reciprocate, and I briefly wondered if I made the wrong choice. I pulled back, mouth agape as I dragged my hands from his shoulders.
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have-”
“Now you’ve fucking done it, princess.”
His hand wrapped around my throat in a firm but soft grip and le tugged me closer to him. His lips descended on mine and all thought flew out of my mind. His free hand tangled in my hair, tugging tightly as he nipped at my bottom lip, silently asking for entrance.
My lips parted of their own volition as a soft sigh went through me.
Kissing him felt perfect. It was like pieces of a puzzle finally falling into place. His hands, albeit rough and callused, were gentle against my skin, his scent enveloped me like a blanket. I thought I’d feel fear from being this close to him, I thought that because of what happened, I’d be doomed, but in that moment, nothing else mattered but him and the feel of him against me.
The sound of our hearts hammering in sync added to the sheer intensity of the situation and when he backed me into the wall, his body pressing into mine, a loud moan escaped.
“Fucking hell,” Kai hissed, pulling back as he ran his fingers through his hair.
His lips were swollen, and I could make out small nail marks on his bicep where I’d gripped him. I didn’t need to see myself to know that I looked as frenzied as I felt.
A part of me itched to run away, to hide from what I’d done, but I shoved that part away. It was far too late to start running… and for once, there was no need to.
Kai turned to me, eyes wild with desire. “You can’t make sounds like that, princess.”
I knew what he was referring to, but I decided to play ignorant. Like what?”
He reached out to me, his thumb softly brushing over my lower lip. The touch was so soft, almost reverent that my wolf purred inside of me, but in a second, his hand gripped my chin rmly, tilting my face up until I was staring into his eyes.
“Hearing you moan makes me wonder what it’ll take to have you screaming my name.”
Judging by that kiss… not much.
“You’re not leaving,” he ground out and I nodded. “Say it.”
“I’m not leaving.”
Once the words left my lips, his shoulders sagged slightly with rief and some of the tension in his eyes disappeared. He released me and without another word, grabbed my duffel bag the ground and walked out of the kitchen.
I stood there, panties soaking, heart racing and hair tangled for good minute before I finally found the use of my legs again.
I had no idea where I was going, but I knew better than to be in the kitchen when he returned because the chances of me doing something stupid was at an all time high.
I’d barely made it out of the dining room when I bumped into Damien. He smelled like soap and his hair was dripping

all over the tiles and his white shirt. He took one look at me and the corner of his lips tugged up into a smirk.
“Looks like you finally decided to make a move, good for you,” teased.
Damn lycans and their stupid sense of smell.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I mumbled as I headed straight for the back door.

He followed after me. “Oh come on, Daisy, everyone knows that the only reason Kai has been such a dick in the past two days is because he’s not getting any. I’m glad you finally decided to take one for the team.”
I turned to him, hands crossed over my chest. “Who says I made the first move?”
“I know Kai,” he said simply. “Besides, you’re the one who’s turning bright red.”
I groaned and he laughed. He was like a fucking toddler sometimes.
“Don’t you have places to be and work to do?”
He raised his hands in mock surrender. “Have a good day, Daisy

me a wink before leaving me alone.
Thankfully, I didn’t have to see him again for the rest of the day When they were about to leave, it was Kai who came to inform me. He offered the opportunity for me to go with him, but I refused. I wasn’t sure I’d be able to sit in the same space with him now that I knew what it was like to kiss him.
I wasn’t even sure how I’d sleep in the same house knowing he was only a few doors down. All I could think about was that stupid kiss. I could still feel his lips on me, still smell the arousal in the air, and the way he looked at me.
“I told you that giving this a chance wouldn’t be a bad idea,” my wolf teased.
