My Reborn Apocalypse Begins with a Divorce novel Chapter 120

On day 18 of the apocalypse, early in the morning, word spread rapidly as people ran from place to place, denouncing the atrocities committed by Building 4 the night before.

They had launched a surprise attack on Building 3. Over the course of a single night, they assaulted more than half the building’s residents, killing nearly everyone. Only a handful of womenthose deemed attractivewere spared and dragged back to Building 4.

Among the targeted households, some people fled in desperation, hiding in the underground garage. They used the darkness and the bitter cold to discourage pursuit, narrowly escaping death.

Even so, by the next morning, more than half of those survivors were dead.

The news came directly from their mouths.

When the truth came out, the entire residential complex was shaken. Condemnation erupted everywhere.

Under the coordination of the building leaders, most of the residents gathered in the garage for a meeting.

Naturally, no one from Building 4 showed upbecause today’s agenda was how to deal with Building 4.

This was beyond outrageous.

Ray had killed people before, yesbut anyone with half a brain could see that others had provoked him first. He only struck back in selfdefense.

That was why people feared Rayhe had killed, and not just one or twobut they weren’t terrified of him. As long as you didn’t mess with him, you were safe.

Building 4 was different.

Even if you left them alone, they would come for you. They would eat your flesh, drink your blood, and violate your wife and daughter. They were like a cult of demons. Who wouldn’t be afraid?

So, a solution had to be found.

Ray, of course, didn’t participate. When he woke up, the first thing he did was look out the window. The fog had thinned again. Visibility wasn’t as good as yesterday, but it still reached about fifteen meters.

That meant it was possible to go out and look for supplies.

He had just stocked up on three large canisters of gasoline and diesel the day before, so there was no rush to head out today.

By noon, Honey and the other three women came over and told Ray what Building 4 had done. Every one of them looked deeply troubled.

Who knew if the people from Building 4 would smash down their doors tonight and storm in to do as they pleased?

Among them, even Amanda and Emilywhose looks were slightly less strikingwere still solidly attractive. Honey and Lola were absolute stunners. If any of them fell into the hands of those men from Building 4

The outcome would be unimaginably tragic.

Yes, they were selling themselves nowbut Ray was reasonable. He didn’t take them for free. In return, they ate meat every day, enjoyed the heating, and had hot showers. It was no different from being kept by a rich man in the old daysmaybe the title sounded ugly, but in reality, they were living far better than most.

But if they ended up in Building 4? They would be abused, tortured, and eventuallyeaten.

With worries like that hanging over them, how could their brows not be tightly knit?

After listening to their account of Building 4’s atrocities, Ray learned that although the complex had organized a meeting, the community wasn’t united. In the end, nothing concrete was decided. The meeting had been pointless -everyone just froze in the garage for nothing.

Once people had started eating human flesh, they had completely abandoned all morality. No social order restrained them anymore. In their eyes, there was no right or wrong.

Onlysurvival.

To be fair, that mindset did make it easier to survive in the apocalypse.

But living next to a pack of beasts who had already tasted bloodeven Ray felt a chill down his spine.

He himself didn’t fear those thugs. But if Honey and the others were targeted by Building 4, not one of them would escape.

Ray wasn’t done enjoying them yet. Naturally, he didn’t want them dragged off to become toys for those men.

And once Building 4 finished wiping out the rest of the complex, the flames would eventually reach him as well.

If they were destined to be enemies, why not strike first and eliminate them early?

Ray calculated quietly. He believed in one thing above allstability. Even if he made a move, his own safety had to be absolutely guaranteed. Ninetynine percent certainty was still irresponsible.

Then, he had an idea.

This wouldn’t guarantee wiping out everyone in Building 4, but it would at least stop them from committing atrocities for a while. In the end, more than half of them would probably die.

So, he said, For the next few days, you’ll all stay here. Once the issue with Building 4 is resolved, you can go back.

The four women were overjoyed. But Lola quickly asked, Can I bring my son over too?

Ray shook his head.

That was impossible.

Disappointment flickered across Lola’s face. She stood there, hesitatingshould she come alone, or stay home with her son? The decision tore at her.

In the end, she chose to come alone and leave her son with a neighboran elderly couple who were kind people. As long as she gave them some food, they would surely take good care of the boy.

It was a helpless choice. After all, she didn’t love her son all that much. He was merely a tool for climbing higher. Compared to herself, the choice was easy.

After eating, she took some food and left. An hour later, she returned.
