Chapter 150
Ray opened the garage door and had Amanda carry out a box of instant noodles and a box of water. Once the items were outside, he closed the door and asked, “What’s the exact location?”
Ron began to explain.
Of course, the military base was hidden deep in the mountains; there was no way to give a precise street address. All he could do was indicate which mountain to enter and the general path to follow. Once they reached the correct mountain, there would be sentries along the way, and following the road would be straightforward.
Ray checked the map. It was over 30 kilometers from here. Since it was already midday, leaving immediately meant they could reach the base before nightfall.
‘Let’s go,‘ he decided.
His craving to replenish his firepower burned strong. He had already prepared three days‘ worth of food and water for all five girls upstairs and downstairs. Now, it was time to move.
The G–Class maintained a steady 20 kilometers per hour. Not fast, but safety came first. Going faster could be risky—if the vehicle overturned in these conditions, even with all the resources in his spatial pocket, Ray could easily freeze to death
outdoors.
Along the way, many obstacles appeared. Ray cleared them all with ease. Two hours later, he finally reached the mountainous area Ron had described.
Sentries. But no one was manning them.
It made sense. With Senna City’s temperatures, even the army’s winter uniforms wouldn’t protect against this kind of bitter cold. Not to mention the toxic hailstorm that had fallen earlier–who could withstand that?
Ray drove deeper into the mountains. After a while, he noticed deep tracks in the road–ice layers broken and clearly marked.
Those… must be tank tracks.
Comparing them to the paths G–Class had taken, it was obvious. His G–Class was heavy, but not heavy enough to break thick ice. Whoever had left these tracks must have been driving something far heavier–most likely a tank.
A smile spread across Ray’s face.
That meant the troops had left the camp. They’d been rescued!
Sure, the outside world was still dangerous, but at least there was a place to find supplies.
Ray had never been a soldier, but he still respected the troops. Knowing they had likely survived lifted his spirits.
The only question was… had they taken the weapons with them?
Probably not. Moving people alone would be difficult–moving weapons as well? He’d find out soon enough.
There was no need to inspect the sentries. He just followed the tracks. About twenty more minutes later, he arrived at the camp.
Dead silence.
No people. No birds. Nothing.
Ray checked his equipment, then opened his car door. Instantly, a bone chilling cold swept over him. It was freezing!
He began searching the camp. Soon, his eyes lit up.
The armory.
Chapter 150
Now, this was an armory. Compared to yesterday’s police station stash, this was in a completely different league.
Handguns, rifles, light and heavy machine guns, grenades–even RPGs!
