Chapter 185
Doug’s words made both Heather and John tremble.
What a monster.
“Oh?” Doug said, feigning surprise as he looked at John. “Professor Morty, are you unhappy?”
John shuddered, then nodded quickly. “Happy. I’m happy.”
“If you’re happy, why aren’t you smiling? Why aren’t you clapping? Why aren’t you thanking me?” Doug’s expression darkened.
Since John had already caved completely, he no longer had any bottom line. He hurriedly forced a smile, clapped his hands, and said, “Thank you, Doug!”
“Thank me for what?” Doug asked deliberately.
John clenched his teeth and said, “Thank you, Doug, for sleeping with my fiancée and letting me watch from the side.”
“Hahahaha!” Doug burst into laughter, repeatedly slapping John on the shoulder. “How is a coward like you even fit to be a professor?”
“You’re right… I’m not fit! Not fit at all!” John had completely abandoned any sense of principle, knowing only how to agree and grovel.
Ray couldn’t help shaking his head.
Would Doug spare John? Obviously not.
No matter how much John tried to please him, it would never buy him a way out. At best, it only fed Doug’s twisted psyche.
“Huh, seems like I kind of enjoy this sort of thing too. Could I secretly be a pervert as well?”
As for Heather, she was utterly disillusioned.
In terms of academia, John was undeniably outstanding–otherwise, even as the vice chancellor’s son, he would never have gained her approval, let alone an engagement.
But now she finally understood that learning did not equal backbone.
In a time of national crisis, John would have been no different from history’s most despicable collaborators.
“Alright then,” Doug said, patting John on the shoulder. “Professor Morty, you can stand aside and watch as I play with your fiancée. If I make her feel good, don’t forget to clap.”
“Yes, of course,” John said, bowing and scraping.
Doug laughed loudly and walked toward Heather.
Meanwhile, Ray quietly slipped out from cover, closing in from behind.
His strength was overwhelming, and he had absorbed two supernatural abilities–but if he could ambush someone from the back, why not?
Ideally, every enemy would just walk straight into his spatial portal. That was the least effort of all.
However, John suddenly shouted, “Careful! Someone’s sneaking up on you!”
What the hell?!
Ray was stunned. His fiancée was about to be raped, and here he was, warning the rapist? Was this some ultimate–grade
cuckold?

There was no time to dwell on it. Dozens of bullets poured out of the spatial portal.
A wall of ice instantly formed behind Doug, blocking every single bullet.
Doug spun around at once to face Ray, both furious and shocked.
“It’s you! You’re the one who took Katie and Jess yesterday. Ray, right?”
Ray inwardly cursed his luck. Those with supernatural abilities possessed an instinctive sense of danger. Despite the ambush, he still failed to land a hit.
