Jess sashayed over, swaying her sexy hips with practiced allure, and laughed sweetly.
“Ray really has good taste. Professor Campbell is a famous beauty at our school. She was the campus belle back when she was a student, and after becoming a professor? Countless students fantasize about her. Every night, they’re all dreaming of her.”
That oh–so–innocent act of hers–sharp as a needle the moment she opened her mouth. It sounded like praise, even envy, yet every word stabbed right where it hurt.
Heather’s face went pale. Yes. As a professor, she was actually competing with her students for a man. How could she even do something like this?
But refuse Ray’s “protection” and walk out on her own? She’d freeze to death in minutes.
Ray didn’t stop Jess. He didn’t need his household to be perfectly harmonious–let alone stagnant like dead water. With someone like Jess stirring things up, poking this one today and needling that one tomorrow, the atmosphere would at least stay lively.
And when women got jealous and competed, they only tried harder to please him.
Ray glanced at Jess and casually gave her an approving look. She immediately fluttered a wink back, signaling she understood.
“Alright. Let’s go inside first.”
With a wave of his hand, he ushered all nine women into the living room.
The fireplace blazed brightly, yet the warmth was evenly distributed throughout the entire villa. Even though the fireplace was in the living room, it wasn’t noticeably warmer there than anywhere else.
Heather stared at the brightly lit rooms, the television playing, the steady flow of warm air. Living conditions like this were something she had never dared to imagine before.
“Relax. Be natural. We’re all family here,” Ray said with a smile.
That line didn’t help her relax at all. Instead, it felt like a reminder–every woman here belonged to Ray. From now on, she’d be competing with them. How humiliating.
“You two, stop teasing her already,” Honey said as she walked over and gently pulled Heather aside.
Ray swept his gaze over the nine women, thinking that in a couple of days, he’d have them all wear outfits matching their professions.
A female professor. A female police officer. Female students.
And Honey–what was she? A regular office worker?
Then there was Molly… prison uniform?
Hmm. That actually didn’t sound impossible.
While he was lost in these inappropriate thoughts, Molly spoke up. “The fighting in the neighborhood has basically come to an end. Building 4 was essentially wiped out. However, the ringleaders–Jon, Sunny, and a few others–are missing. No trace of
them was found.”
It was over in just one day?
Ray nodded. The fall of Building 4 wasn’t surprising. After all, they were just one building–while the entire neighborhood had twenty–five.
In raw, primitive warfare, what mattered most? Numbers.

Chapter 190
Building 4 had been hopelessly outmatched.
It was just unexpected that Jon and some others had managed to escape.

Ray chuckled. Those men were vicious to begin with. Now that they’d scattered and gone underground, it would actually make it easier for them to move around. If they weren’t found and eliminated quickly, no one in the neighborhood would have peace.
