A group of people rushed out. They stared at the fallen door, where an arm could vaguely be seen pinned underneath. For a split second, they froze–then rage erupted all at once.
“Where did this idiot come from. How dare he cause trouble here?”
“Kill him!”
They charged at Ray immediately.
They were all bare–handed. There was no time to grab weapons.
A thought crossed Ray’s mind. Maybe he should start practicing close–quarters combat. What if he needed it someday?
Having a skill and not using it was one thing. Needing it and not having it–that would be trouble.
More importantly, he had already checked with his spatial perception. These people truly had no weapons. With his current physical strength, was there any reason to fear them?
Ray clenched his fists. ‘Fine. Let’s do this.‘
Ray was alone, while there were seven of them. By all logic, it should have been a hopeless case of one against many. Yet in reality, he wasn’t just holding his ground–he was absurdly relaxed.
Every punch he threw was fast, precise, and devastating. No one could dodge. And once they took a hit, each man staggered backward several steps before crashing to the ground on his ass, his face twisted in pain.
Ray had absorbed four abilities. Along with his own, that meant his body had undergone five rounds of enhancement.
He hadn’t formally tested it, but he could estimate–his explosive strength easily exceeded a thousand pounds.
After all, he could casually pick up four grown adults at once, even while holding two of the nine women in his arms.
Who wouldn’t go down after taking a punch like that?
In less than thirty seconds, all seven men were sprawled on the ground.
Ray rubbed his side. He’d ended the fight fast, but he’d still taken a few hits.
His body was just too tough, though. Against bare fists and kicks from ordinary people, all he felt was a brief sting. Real damage was out of the question.
“Not professionals. Sloppy form,” Ray muttered, shaking his head. He wasn’t satisfied with his own performance.
He hadn’t beaten them with skill–it was just brute force.
‘You hit me, I barely feel it. I hit you, you’re done.‘ No wonder it was a one–sided slaughter.
“If I ever meet a real fighter,” he muttered, “I’ll have to ask for some tips.”
He searched the villa and found only three women. They lay beneath blankets, only their faces and hair visible, eyes empty and expressions hollow.
It was obvious–they had been used by the construction crew to satisfy their lust.
Ray didn’t kill them.
He hadn’t used his abilities, and he hadn’t shown his face–he’d kept it tightly covered against the cold.
He wasn’t a bloodthirsty maniac who killed for no reason.

Still, even if he left them alive, judging by their condition, they wouldn’t survive more than a few days.
Suddenly, his eyes began to redden. He could feel flames surging within his body.
Not good–the aftereffects of absorbing abilities were kicking in.
Ray glanced at the three women and couldn’t help shuddering.
No. Absolutely not. Even if they were innocent, even if they had been forced, he just couldn’t do it. He found them genuinely repulsive.
‘I should’ve spared the Gruger family’s mother and daughter,‘ he thought bitterly. At least they hadn’t been touched.
Whatever. What’s done is done. Why dwell on it?
Ray pushed the door open and left. There had to be other women around. He could try his luck–and for now, he could still suppress the urge.
He went to the third villa and continued killing.
He stormed through eight villas in succession, killing a total of thirty–one people.
Every villa had women inside, but every single one of them had been abused beyond recognition.
Ray had no interest in them at all.
