Chapter 233
With Catherine taking the lead, Shane couldn’t help but follow.
Kill Ray, take the car–then there would be a way to survive.
Ray smiled faintly and stopped hiding his ability.
“Oot!” Shane and Catherine cried out at the same time, both letting out pained grunts–they had slammed straight into a block
of stone.
Into a block of stone? Inside a house, and you’re telling me they ran into a rock? Who would believe that?
Stunned, Shane and Catherine stared at the massive stone in front of them, as if they’d seen a ghost.
They even reached out to touch it.
Cold. Solid.
It really was stone.
But how was that possible?
How could a huge rock appear out of thin air inside a room?
They looked at each other, then over the stone and back at Ray, their expressions a mix of confusion and terror.
“Y–you… was this you?” Shane reacted a beat faster, his voice trembling as he asked Ray.
“That’s right. It was me.” Ray pressed his hand lightly against it, and the massive stone vanished into thin air.
He calmly sat down. Then, right in front of them, a table appeared. Snacks materialized on it out of nowhere, along with a cup of warm milk–and, oh yes, a handgun.
The sight left Shane and Catherine utterly dumbfounded.
“Y–you–you… how is this possible?!” Shane shrieked.
It felt like a dream.
“This is called an ability,” Ray added casually. “You can call it a superpower, a special talent–whatever you like.”
Catherine’s eyes lit up. “You can create things out of nothing?”
“That’s right.” Ray nodded.
He didn’t bother explaining that these items had all been prepared long ago, that he didn’t create things but merely moved
them. There was no need.
Anyone who knew his secret was already dead. And dead people didn’t need explanations.
Temptation flashed across Catherine’s face. “How about I follow you? Take a good look at me–I count as a beauty, don’t I? And I’m very good in bed. If you don’t believe me, you can ask Shane!”
The moment she said it, Shane’s face turned green.
Why did this feel so familiar? Was he about to get cuckolded again?
No wait. Catherine wasn’t even his wife. What was there to be cuckolded about?
But she was the mother of his son! If she really threw herself into Ray’s arms and had Shane’s son calling him ‘Dad,‘ then even if Shane were dead, his coffin lid wouldn’t stay shut.
That bitch. Now that she’s realized my money’s uselses, and sees Ray with actual superpowers, she’s switching sides with a second thought? You shut. You deserve to die!‘ Shane stared at Catherine, fury blazing in his eyes.
Ray naturally noticed and fanned the flames. “Kill Shane, and I’ll give you a chance.”
