Chapter 9
The studio plunged into a deathly silence. But it lasted only a short moment.
Suddenly, Kristen let out a shrill scream and lunged toward Deacon, trying to cover his mouth. He shoved her away so
hard she almost fell.
“Deacon! Are you insane? Do you even know what you’re saying?!” Her voice was nearly a howl.
Deacon ignored her. Instead, he reached into the inner pocket of his suit and pulled out a yellowed handwritten score.
“This is Nina’s original manuscript. Her handwriting. It can be verified. The version Kristen submitted to the competition
was the one I printed for her.”
The audience erupted instantly.
“Oh my God, so this was the truth!”
“Kristen is a fraud!”
“Deacon is trash too! Scumbag!”
Someone stood up and shouted, “Mr. Carnera, wasn’t it because you were cheating that you betrayed Nina back then?!”
Deacon let out a bitter laugh and nodded. “Yes. I wronged Nina. I betrayed her trust. Every mistake was mine. I
personally destroyed her life.”
Kristen collapsed. She staggered backward, trembling violently, whispering, “No… no… that’s not… that’s not how it
happened…
Then she suddenly screamed.
‘I didn’t! I earned my position as a judge through my own ability! I’m not like Nina, sneaking around like a
bottom-feeder scavenging for relevance, trying to sabotage the show!”
At that moment, a calm, magnetic voice echoed from backstage.
‘Bottom-feeder?”
Chance walked onto the stage in a perfectly tailored suit, composed and lethal.
“Nina Rosales is one of the most sought-after plano instructors in the world. His voice was strong and resonant. Lady R
The secret judge of this show.”
“So tell me, who here is the real bottom-feeder stealing someone else’s work?”
As he spoke, the high-definition monitors pulsed with the faces of the global elite.
One profile after another flashed across it, my students from around the world. Every single one was now a top-tier
concert pianist dominating the international music scene.

The hall exploded.
“Oh my God! Lady R is Nina?!
“She taught my favorite planist!
“Kristen doesn’t even come close, What a joke!”
Audience members stood, clapping, gasping, whispering. All eyes now filled with respect.
