My Runaway Groom Came Back I Became His Aunt! novel Chapter 6

Chapter 6

The moment the police walked in, Ethan collapsed.

He threw himself at Vincent, clutching his leg, reduced to a blubbering mess of snot and desperation.

“Uncle, I know I was wrong! I really know I was wrong! Please, just let me go! I’ll take Summer and disappear right now. We’ll get out of Chicago. We’ll get out of the Vale family!”

Summer was groveling beside him, her forehead thudding against the concrete in a frantic rhythm.

“Vincent, Elena, we know we were wrong. Please let us go. We’ll never do anything like this again!”

I looked at both of them, my voice ice-cold.

“You think a few tears can wash away six years of filth?”

“Ethan, you ran from the wedding, abandoned your own child, and deliberately harmed my son. Which part of that was a small mistake?”

“Summer, you inserted yourself into someone else’s engagement, ran away with Ethan, abandoned your own child, and then deliberately hurt Aiden. And you think all of that can just be brushed aside?”

Vincent lifted a hand.

At once, Evan stepped forward and threw a set of documents down in front of them.

“This is the Vale family expulsion agreement.”

“Sign it, and from this moment on, both of you are out of the Vale family.”

“As for the evidence that you harmed Aiden, I’ve already turned it over to the police, the DA’s office, and the family’s legal team.”

“And then there’s court.”

Ethan stared at the papers on the floor, white as a sheet, shaking his head over and over.

“I’m not signing! I’m a Vale! You can’t throw me out!”

Vincent let out a cold laugh.

“I gave you a chance.”

“You were the one who threw it away.”

“The second you laid a hand on my wife and son, you lost the right to carry the Vale name.”

The enforcers moved in, grinding their wrists against the table until the ink met the paper.

The second the signatures were on the page, Ethan seemed to collapse in on himself. He slumped onto the

floor, eyes empty and unfocused.

“I’m not a Vale anymore…”

“I have nothing left…”

Summer looked just as dead inside.

She knew her life was over.

Not long after that, the police took them away.

Vincent had arranged everything ahead of time.

The evidence was airtight.

In the end, Ethan was sentenced to fifteen years for felony neglect, aggravated assault, grand larceny, and

fraud.

Summer was sentenced to eight years as an accomplice, and for intentional assault and child abandonment.
