Chapter 794

Gianna

The car hadn’t even come to a full stop before the door beside me opened. Cold air rushed into the back seat. I barely had time to lift my head before Leone reached inside and grabbed my arm.

“Move.”

I planted my feet against the floor, “No.”

His fingers tightened around my upper arm,

“I said no.”

He pulled.

“Gianna.”

My body jerked forward, my knees hitting the edge of the seat as I tried to use the car door to hold myself inside. My hands were still tied tightly behind my back. The restraints had rubbed my wrists raw during the drive, and every movement sent a sharp sting through the skin.

Leone swore under his breath, “Don’t make me drag you.”

“Then don’t fucking take me.”

He gave another hard pull. I lost my balance and stumbled out of the car. My shoes hit wet concrete. The air smelled like salt, fuel, and cold metal.

Mooked up.

For one second, I forgot to fight.

We were at a private marina.

Rows of boats sat in their slips, their hulls rocking gently against the dark water. Tall lamps threw pale circles of light across the dock. Beyond them, the water stretched into the night, black and almost impossible to see where

it ended.

A larger motor yacht waited at the end of one of the private docks.

Not some giant luxury ship.

A fast, low vessel with enough room for several people and a covered cabin. Its engines were already running, the low vibration traveling through the dock beneath my shoes.

My stomach sank.

The island.

Of course.

There would be no road leading there, no car, no easy way to run. Leone pulled me toward the dock.

I twisted away, “Where are you taking me?”

He didn’t answer.

I dug my heels into the concrete, “Say it, Leone!”

He turned around sharply, “The island.”

The word hit me harder than his grip. My head snapped toward my father as he stepped out of the car behind us.

“Dad!” I stared at him, “What island? Is this the undisclosed location I saw in those files?”

He stopped and that answered my question.

I stared at him, “You are actually doing this.”

His face looked tired, “You don’t understand the situation.”

A bitter laugh tore out of me, “No, I understand it perfectly.”

Leone started pulling me toward the boat again.

I fought him every step, “You think taking me to Vance is going to fix anything?”

“Stop fighting.”

“That man ruined my life!”

My voice carried across the marina. A couple of men farther down the dock glanced toward us before quickly looking away.

“You hear me?” I shouted, “Dr. Vance destroyed my life for nothing!”

Leone’s jaw tightened.

I turned my head toward my father, “And you let him!”

Dad followed us onto the dock, “Gianna, lower your voice.”

“No!”

I stumbled when Leone pulled me forward. He caught my arm before I could fall.

I shoved against him with my shoulder, “Don’t touch me!”

“You’ll fall.”

“I’d rather fall into the fucking ocean!”

Leone gave me a look, “Keep talking like that and I’ll throw you overboard myself.”

My head snapped toward him, “Try it.”

For a second, neither of us moved, then my father stepped closer, “Enough, both of you.”
