Chapter 324 The Greatest Fortune Of My Life

Because the woman was Kael’s mate, Emma had no intention of getting acquainted. She turned to the men beside her and said, “Let’s head in. Laura’s still waiting for us.”

Just as she was about to leave, Kael, who’d been chatting with his mate a moment earlier, suddenly turned and spotted her.

For a brief second, he froze. Then he took his mate’s hand and strode purposefully toward

them.

“Ms. Emma Tibarn, it’s been a long time,” Kael said first, his tone polite but distant. “I finally remembered everything that happened. Thank you for saving me back on F–268.”

His words caught Emma, Edric, and Lucien completely off guard.

He’d drunk Edric’s venom and still managed to recall the past?

Edric’s venom supposedly had no antidote. Anyone who drank it would have their memories erased, never to return.

How had Kael done it?

Emma masked her thoughts behind a look of surprise. “What did you say? You mean you forgot that I saved you on F–268?”

“You didn’t know?” Kael frowned, confusion flickering across his face. Has she been kept in the dark by Edric all this time?

“Your mate, Edric Lachman, fed me his serpent venom and wiped every memory of you from my mind.”

Emma widened her eyes further. “When did this happen? Why didn’t I know anything about it?” She turned sharply toward Edric. “Edric, is what Mr. Auris said true? Did you really erase his memory?”

Of course, she already knew the answer–Edric had told her long ago. She was only pretending now, testing how much Kael actually remembered.

Did he also recall what happened with the Divine Flame? Or only the rescue on F–268?

Edric instantly caught her intention and played along. “Emma, I swear I’m innocent. I never fed Kael my venom; he’s making it up.”

Kael’s face darkened. He hadn’t expected the snake to be such a coward–daring to do it but not to admit it.

“Edric, are you even male?” He spat. “In front of your huntress, you don’t even have the guts to own up to what you’ve done?”

Edric gave a quiet, mocking laugh. “Kael, you claim I poisoned you. Then tell me–where, when, and how exactly did I do it?”

“You…” Kacl faltered.

He clearly remembered that Emma had saved him and that afterward, due to a misunderstanding, they’d gone through a dissolution of their bond. But his memories of being poisoned by Edric were vague and blurry–no matter how he tried, he couldn’t recall the where or the why.

Even Kael himself wanted to know when and why Edric had done it.

Seeing him stumble, Edric’s tone turned cutting. “What’s wrong? Can’t answer? You can’t even fabricate a time and place, and you dare show up in front of my huntress and slander me?”

Kael was furious. He knew he was telling the truth, yet Edric had flipped the whole thing against him.

“Edric, you know exactly what you did.” He admitted to himself he’d never win a verbal fight against this slippery serpent.

So he looked straight at Emma instead. “Ms. Emma Tibarn, I might not remember where or why Edric fed me the venom, but I swear before the Beast God–every word I’ve said is true.”

Emma understood now.

Kael had only recovered fragments of his memory. He hadn’t remembered the Divine Flame.

That was a relief.

The rescue and the dissolution of their bond weren’t secrets anyway. It didn’t matter if he remembered those.

“I see,” Emma said calmly. “I’ll look into it when we’re back. If it really was Edric’s doing, I’ll make sure he’s punished.”

At that, Kael shot Edric a cold glare and gave a disdainful snort.

Then he softened, turning to Emma. “Ms. Emma Tibarn, you don’t need to punish him. Even

though he erased my memories, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise–it led me to my huntress, Dahlia Lane.”

As he spoke, his gaze warmed, settling tenderly on the small female beside him.

“Ms. Lane is gentle and kind. I love her deeply. Looking back, I’m actually grateful I dissolved our bond right away.”

If not for that, he would never have met Dahlia–never have bonded so easily with her.

Kael looked at Dahlia with open adoration, raising both hands to cup her delicate face. His thumbs stroked softly across her smooth skin.

His eyes burned with affection, his voice low and magnetic. “Dahlia, meeting you is the greatest fortune of my life.”
