After Alaric left, Silas raised his hand and glanced at the lightcore on his wrist, smiling as he spoke.

She hung up the call.

Silas slowly leaned closer to Emma. Seeing how vivid her face looked because of her anger, his voice turned low and gentle.

“On the contrary, Emma, it’s precisely because I trust you so much that I had to let you hear all that.”

His hand lightly stroked her lower back, completely unconcealed in both his calculation and his intentions.

“If you trust me, then why did you make me listen to that?” Emma looked at Silas in confusion.

Silas lifted his other hand and lightly tapped the center of Emma’s chest with his fingertip.

“Because Alaric is watching Andre outside.
