The door creaked open slightly, allowing Corvin to only stick his head inside.

Then, he saw that Emma was still sitting in the chair with her legs crossed, holding that pitch–black, ugly little lump in her hands.
Why was this guy always in his beast form?
Could it be that his human form was even uglier than his beast form? Was that why he refused to change back?
‘E–Emma…” Corvin walked into the room, casually closing the door behind him. He stood with his back against the door, hands clasped behind him, looking like a well–behaved elementary school student ready to confess to his mistakes. “I–I’m here.”
Emma looked at him with a half–smile, her fingers absentmindedly stroking Jim’s fur.
‘Corvin, you’ve got some nerve.” Her tone was cool. “You secretly created one new group chat after another behind my back, nsulted my new sweetheart in those chats, and even planned to hold some sort of primary mate competition?”
Corvin was getting bolder and bolder by the day. He might as well launch himself to the sun and call it a day!
Cold sweat immediately beaded on Corvin’s forehead as he hastily waved his hands.
‘N–No! Emma, I can defe–Wait, no. I mean, I can explain.”
‘Is that right?” Emma sneered. “Fine. I’ll listen. Start talking.”
This time, she was going to teach Corvin a lesson that stuck.
Otherwise, he would keep creating new group chats behind her back, which annoyed her to no end.
As for the so–called primary mate competition Corvin was planning to hold….
Emma paid it no mind as she knew Silas would definitely make Corvin pay for overstepping his boundaries later.
So, she didn’t need to worry about it.
Corvin carefully sidled closer, shooting a glance at the black lump in Emma’s hand.
Then, he pleaded lowly, “Emma, could you… could you have him leave?”
He knew he had made a terrible mistake. So, he would apologize until he was blue in the face and until Emma was satisfied.
However, he couldn’t execute his plan with another male present.
Emma glanced at Jim, who was still curled up in her hand.
Jim vanished a second later.
Corvin stared at the spot where the black lump had been. His eyes widened in shock as that newcomer had disappeared into thin
air.
What kind of beast was he?

How could he move so fast?
“Emma, did… did he leave?”
Did that guy have some kind of invisibility ability?
Was he just invisible but still present in the room?
“Yes. He’s already gone.” Emma nodded.
“You can start talking now.”
Corvin hadn’t seen how Jim had left, but Emma had.
That was because Jim had allowed Emma to see him leave.
Otherwise, Emma wouldn’t have been able to perceive him leaving with how fast he actually was.
Once Corvin knew the other male was gone, he immediately closed the distance between him and Emma. Then, he fell to his knees with a solid thump. There was no reluctance as he went straight to groveling for forgiveness.
Finally, he wrapped his arms around her thigh, nuzzling his cheek against it as he started to wail piteously, “Emma, I’m sorry! I swear I am! I shouldn’t have created group chats behind your back. I shouldn’t run my mouth in there.
“And I definitely shouldn’t have called the new addition to our family ugly!”
Corvin looked up at her with teary eyes. Soon, his light blue beast ears popped out while his tail gently wrapped itself around Emma’s ankle.
He looked pitiful beyond words.
‘Emma, you can scold me or even beat me if need be.” As he spoke, he even unbuttoned his shirt and shrugged it off before tossing it aside.
Then, he pulled a whip out of his storage band and handed it to Emma.
Once that was done, he turned around and said, “Emma, you can go ahead and whip me. I won’t make a sound, no matter how hard you hit me. I promise I won’t make a peep.”
Emma now understood why he had wanted Jim gone.
So, this was how he planned to beg for her forgiveness.
Emma stared at the whip in her hand, feeling a mixture of annoyance and amusement.
Did he think she was some kind of twisted pervert?
Was she someone who’d whip anyone who crossed her?
Was Corvin operating under some kind of misconception or or was he interested in that sort of thing?
Emma couldn’t help but chuckle at that thought.
Her voice was especially clear in the quiet room.
