Lucien and Calum caught on right away. They shut up and hurried in after him.

Inside the castle hall, Marcus was sitting on the couch with a dark look on his face, scrubbing his hands over and over with disinfectant wipes. The second he saw Lucien walk in, his dull, lifeless eyes snapped sharp with a cold glare. “Lucien, how did I never notice your taste is this… impressive? You let someone in who can double as entertainment and a biological weapon.”
Lucien knew he was in the wrong. He took the hit without arguing.
“I had no idea it would turn into this.” He said it while closing the distance in a few quick strides, stopping in front of Emma. He looked her over from head to toe, worry written all over his expression. “Emma, are you okay? Feeling sick anywhere? That smell didn’t mess you up, did it?”
Emma shook her head. “I’m fine. Malrik got a respirator on me right away.”
She hadn’t actually smelled much. At least it didn’t leave a huge mental scar.
Once they were sure she was fine, Lucien, Calum, and Silas all let out a quiet breath.
Silas looked around the hall, suspicion written all over his expression. “So what exactly happened? How did things spiral this badly out of nowhere? He came in as a guard, trying to play undercover, right? So why did he end up blowing up manure? Even if he wanted to get our attention, that’s a pretty… creative way to do it.”
The moment the question landed, Marcus shut his mouth.
The room went quiet for two seconds.
Marcus casually looked away, picked up the empty coffee cup on the table, and pretended to take a sip like he was too busy to be involved.
When Marcus didn’t answer, Drake stepped in. “I checked the surveillance just now. Marcus and Jim were picking flowers in the garden, and Leonard wanted to show off. Marcus told him to go fertilize the exotic plants, and then… this happened.”
Marcus spoke up, sounding a little guilty. “Yeah, I told him to handle the fertilizer, but I didn’t tell him to blow it up. How was I supposed to know he’s that stupid?”
Those beast droppings had all gone through special processing, so they didn’t smell when they sat in the corner. Even when they were used, the gardeners would treat them again properly.
“That idiot Leonard. If he didn’t know how to do it, he could’ve just asked one of the gardeners.” Marcus genuinely thought Leonard had no bottom when it came to being dumb.
I don’t even grow flowers, and I still know that stuff like that needs to be specially treated before we use it.
Meanwhile, in Maulion, Leonard came tearing back at full speed, dragging that suffocating stench straight into his residence.
The servants and patrol guards along the way didn’t even get a clear look at his face before the smell hit them head–on. One by one, their eyes rolled back from the sheer assault.
“Mr. Rysid?” The butler pinched his nose and started to step forward, only to be forced back by the murderous glare Leonard shot

at him.
“Get lost! All of you, stay the hell away from me!” He roared as he stormed into the bathroom, slamming the door shut with a loud
bang.
Not even two minutes after he went in, Leonel rushed over the moment he got the news.
Shock was written all over his expression as he walked toward Leonard’s courtyard, turning to his adjutant in disbelief. “Are you sure you didn’t see it wrong? Leonard’s back?”
How is that even possible? It hasn’t even been a full day, and he’s already back? Did Lucien and the others figure him out?
He was frantic, and his nerves stretched to the breaking point.
This was my perfectly planned setup. If it crashes and burns this fast, how the hell am I supposed to save my reputation?
‘Leonard, what on earth are you…” Leonel had just stepped into Leonard’s place when the stench hit him. It hung thick in the air, sharp and putrid, so intense it felt almost solid as it slammed straight into his skull.
“Ugh!” His dignified old face drained of color on the spot. His vision went black, and he nearly passed out right there.
He staggered, grabbing the doorframe with both hands to keep from collapsing. His stomach was churning violently.
‘What… what is that smell?” He pinched his nose. His voice warped as his eyes watered. “Who did this? Who poisoned my house?”
From the bathroom came the rush of running water, along with the frantic squeak of a body wash bottle being squeezed over and over, and Leonard’s voice, thick with fury. “Don’t come in! Grandpa, get out!”
The smell made Leonel’s head pound. He did not dare stay inside another second. He stumbled back out into the yard, dragging in ungfuls of fresh air. His cheeks flushed a deep, suffocating red.
A full two hours passed before the bathroom door finally opened again.
Leonard stepped out in a bathrobe, his skin rubbed raw and red as he had scrubbed off a layer of himself.
He had gone through three entire bottles of heavy–duty deodorizing wash just to get rid of that deeply embedded stench barely.
Even so, he could still smell it clinging inside his nose.
The moment Leonel saw him, he hurried over and cautiously leaned in for a sniff.
Only after confirming that the biohazard–level stench was gone did he frown and ask in a grave tone, “Leonard, what the hell happened to you? How did you end up like this? And that smell earlier… did you fall into a septic tank or something?”
