“We’ve fed them beast milk and checked their bodies–there’s nothing wrong. No wet diaper, no bowel movement. Why are they still crying nonstop?”

Holding them didn’t work. Laying them down didn’t work. He genuinely had no idea what else to do.

The two cubs kept crying with their eyes shut, each louder than the other, as if competing to see who could cry harder. The sound was utterly maddening.
