Chapter 878 Doing It by the Book
Alaric handed the book to Corvin with a perfectly upright, righteous expression.
“When it comes to bonding, you have to approach it scientifically.”
Corvin took the book suspiciously and glanced at the cover.
‘Interstellar Biology of Reproduction and Physiological Structure, High–Definition (ilustrated Edition.‘
Below it was written in smaller print, ‘Core Medical School Textbook. Rigorous, scientific, and hygienic.
Corvin fell silent. His hand trembled, almost dropping the brick–sized book onto his foot.
Holding the absurdly heavy book, Corvin felt his arms shaking. He looked up, on the verge of crumbling.
“Alaric.” He swallowed and spoke with difficulty. “Are you sure this is for bonding, and not anatomy? Isn’t this title rather hardcore?”
This wasn’t romance at all.
This was basically dragging Jim into a science lecture—or worse, an operating room.
Alaric didn’t even frown. He lifted a slender finger and lightly tapped the thick cover.
“Corvin, you need to look past appearances and focus on the essence,” His voice was calm and clear, carrying a strangely convincing authority.
“Jim is a Voidbeast. If you teach him the same way you’d teach an ordinary therian, it’ll be completely useless. Do you think he understands what a sultry look is? Or what it means to feel your/heart flutter?”
Corvin thought about Jim’s reactions earlier in the room and shook his head.
“Probably not?”
He probably didn’t understand at all. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have kicked him out.
A faint smile tugged at Alaric’s lips as he continued persuading–no, guiding.
“Exactly. When teaching Jim, you have to use data. Use structure.”
Alaric flipped open a page and pointed at a high definition, slightly horrifying anatomical diagram of the therian oral muscles
The red–and–white muscle fibers made Corvin’s scalp tingle.
“Look.” Alaric said with a straight face, spouting nonsense with complete confidence, “When you teach him how to kiss, you just told him to pucker his lips, right?”
Corvin nodded. That was exactly what he did.
Alaric shook his head. “That’s too vague”
“Vague?”

Corvin looked confused. “How do I make it not vague?”
Alaric pointed at the book in Corvin’s hands.
“You explain it according to the book. A kiss is the contraction of the orbicularis oris muscle, coordinated with the hyoid muscle group.
“Saliva secretion should be controlled within a certain ounce. During the process, dopamine and adrenaline levels peak…”
Corvin was completely stunned.
His mouth hung open as if his entire worldview was being reconstructed.
“This sounds kind of weird.” He looked at Alaric uncertainly. “Will this really work?*
“It will.” Alaric nodded firmly. “It has to. Even if it doesn’t, it still has to.”
“Do you have a better idea right now?” Corvin shook his head. He didn’t have a single clue.
“Exactly.”
Alaric looked at him encouragingly. “Since you have no better option, why not try mine? Treat a dead horse like a live one–who knows, it might actually work.”
After saying that, Alaric patted Corvin on the shoulder and pushed the brick into his arms.
“Go. For Emma’s happiness–and for your reputation.”
Holding the book, Corvin’s eyes shifted from confusion to determination.
“Alaric, you’re right!” He looked so moved that he was almost in tears. “You’re a doctor–you must know best about this. I trust you.”
“I’m going right now!”
Without hesitation, Corvin hugged the deadly medical textbook and charged back toward Jim’s room.
Watching his determined back, Alaric covered his mouth and chuckled softly.
It wasn’t that he wanted to mess with Corvin–he just wanted Jim to learn a bit about proper hygiene.
After all, the first chapter of that book was about how to correctly identify and clean-
ach a
Knock Knock Knock,
Jim’s door was knocked on again.
This time, the knocking was rhythmic and full of confidence. Corvin stood outside, clutching
This time, he was definitely going to carefully explain the couters to Hm.

Inside the room, Jim, who had just wrapped himself up like a cocoon and was about to shut himself off for a while, opened his eyes
helplessly when he heard the knocking.
With a wave of his hand, the door opened: Corvin slipped in like a door–to–door salesman, still hugging the book.
“Jim, I’ve got a new method.”
He slammed the book on the bedside table, and the impact made the mug on the table tremble.
Jim sat up and looked at the anatomical diagram on the cover, falling silent for a moment.
Then, he looked at Corvin, confusion in his eyes. “Don’t look at me like that. This is science.”
Corvin said seriously as he flipped the book open.
