The only way Laura could turn things around was to marry Cedric.
Jeremy raised an eyebrow and said, "You mean Laura wants to sleep with someone at the hotel to climb the social ladder? Heh, some people sure are irresistible."
Alfred explained, "It's not about them being irresistible; it's about the allure of money and power. What Laura wants is the Greene family's power and status, just like why she had chosen to be together with Bradley before."
Cedric looked at Noelle and frowned. "There's still no reason to go to the hotel. I'll have my men track down Laura instead."
Noelle looked at Cedric and replied, "There's not enough time for that. We're prepared to explore both options, but finding a kidney donor isn't exactly easy, and we don't know if Carl will ask for even more terms for his conditions. It would be for the best if we could find a kidney donor ourselves."
Alfred offered to help. "I'll make a trip to the hotel."
She shook her head and replied, "You won't be able to do anything even if you went."
Jeremy chimed in, "It doesn't matter who goes to the hotel. You've got to hit back hard when it comes to dealing with someone slippery like Laura."
Noelle then turned to Jeremy and asked, "Do you have a plan?"
Jeremy then whispered his reply to her.
After listening to his explanation, she nodded and said, "Maybe that really could work."
He then smiled smugly and said, "Actually, it's not really that difficult for men to deal with women. It just depends on whether the man is ruthless enough."
Cedric listened to the conversation and just said nothing. Alfred then said, "Why do you always have to sound so sarcastic?"
"Am I?" Jeremy replied.
Alfred continued, "Aren't you?"
Cedric's voice turned softer as he continued, "Noelle, I'm really happy."
Noelle caught on to the gentle tone of his voice and felt her heart beating faster. She hesitated for a moment and replied, "Actually, I remember everything from the car accident now."
A trace of surprise flashed across his eyes. "Was it because of the fire in the dorm?"
Noelle nodded in response. Cedric chuckled and continued, "How much do you remember? You were so scared that you wouldn't let go of my shirt back then."
She naturally remembered that as well.
Hearing the teasing tone in his voice, she looked up at him and replied, "Your voice was still changing due to puberty back then. I always felt that your voice sounded weird. Was it because you were scared?"
He squinted his eyes slightly and pinched her on the cheek. The gesture had a hint of flirtation.
