No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 1063

Noelle froze a little when she noticed that familiar face. Wasn't Ivy supposed to be abroad?

When Mia had been locked up by Salena and forced to sign the shares transfer contract, it was Ivy who'd secretly teamed up with Noelle to fool Salena. If it hadn't been for Ivy, things would have ended a lot worse for Mia.

Now, with Eugene, the hired mercenary, watching over her 24/7, Mia's safety was finally guaranteed. But why had Ivy suddenly returned? Mia hadn't mentioned anything unusual happening in the Cantrell family, either.

Noelle kept watching until Ivy got into a car and left before turning around and heading toward the school. She figured she'd ask Mia about it later.

In the car, Ivy lowered the window and glanced coldly as Noelle left. Her lips curled into an icy smile.

After rolling up the window, she said, "To the hospital."

Back at the dorm, Noelle rubbed her hands and shuddered. "It's getting colder by the day."

Noticing an elegantly wrapped gift box on the table, she asked, "What's this?"

Grinning, Grace explained, "Gifts from Ivy. She brought them back with her when she returned. We all got one."

Noelle's gaze landed on three sparkling diamond bracelets before she looked at Mia and asked, "Why did she suddenly come back? Is the Cantrell family giving you a hard time again?"

Mia shook her head. "No. She came back to take care of some business matters. She's been living abroad for years but owns a company here. My dad gave it to her back then."

As she spoke, her tone was much calmer than it would have been in the past.

There had been a time when she resented her dad for having an affair and having a son with the mistress. But in the end, he'd left most of his assets to Mia.

So while the latter couldn't bring herself to like Ivy, the hostility had faded. After all, she was now the biggest winner.

Noelle nodded. "I see. I ran into her at the school gates earlier. When I saw that face so much like Xenia's, I honestly started doubting whether they're truly unrelated."

Mia said, "Grace said the same thing just now."

"No kidding. That's probably why he lost it. He must've been absolutely furious."

Noelle had suspected all along that the baby might not be Wyatt, and she just hadn't expected it to be true.

Clicking her tongue, Mia said, "Wyatt really is a letdown. He made such a show of avenging your parents and tried to guilt-trip you back then. Now, look at him. He's falling apart when it's his own turn."

Grace looked a little worried. "Will this affect the trial? Will Xenia complain to Sean?"

Mia shook her head. "Probably not. She's got nothing left to fall back on. The only thing she can do now is obey the Liddells."

"Exactly. The Liddell family is planning to buy her off, and right now, money is what she needs the most. I think the trial should go smoothly." Grace agreed.

Then, she leaned in and asked, "So… is the baby Justin's?"

"Most likely," Noelle replied.
