Jeremy found the food at L Bistro completely unappetizing and barely took a few bites before leaving.
Soon, Noelle received a picture from him. It was a picture of Laura and Mike, President of PZ Group.
Noelle looked up and said, "This is from Jeremy. No one knows what they're discussing in the private room."
"That's easy. Leave it to me," Cedric said as he pulled out his phone and called Marvin. After all, he owned the restaurant, and trying to listen in on a conversation in a private room was a piece of cake.
Soon, Marvin came over to report. "Ms. Merlock and her guest are meeting two families in the circle to discuss a potential partnership."
After hearing the names of the families, Mia immediately chimed in, "They're both mid-tier families, mainly in traditional industries and struggling with transformation."
Noelle turned to look at her. "So, if PZ Group approaches them with a deal, they'll be tempted."
Cedric nodded. "Seems like some bigger families became more cautious after the last dinner party incident, so now PZ Group is shifting its attention to smaller mid-tier families."
"Every little bit helps, I guess. They really are insatiable."
Mia said, "But at least the potential amount PZ Group could scam is smaller. And with them being so eager, they're more likely to make mistakes."
Cedric announced, "I've let word out that those families have to choose a side. Publicly, it's still framed as a grudge between Noelle and PZ Group from the dinner party, so I've justified blocking their cooperation."
"No wonder they're switching targets," Noelle murmured.
She thought about the elite families being scammed in her past life. Some even had to implement massive layoffs, causing thousands of people to lose their jobs. That scam disrupted the nation's economy as a whole.
