Mike stormed off in anger.
Laura pulled out a mirror and looked at her face before downing a glass of wine in one gulp. Her eyes burned with vicious intent as she watched Mike leave and murmured, "Just wait. I'll take your place."
Turning around, she headed toward another private room. As soon as she pushed the door open and stepped in, a bright smile spread across her face. "Apologies for being late, everyone. Shall I start the dinner with three shots?"
"Ms. Merlock, we were just talking about the possibility of working with PZ Group. We never expected small companies like ours to get this kind of opportunity."
Laura smiled warmly. "Oh, come on. Small companies or no, all your businesses have great potential."
The door to the private room closed and sealed off the noise inside.
Standing outside, Noelle and Cedric watched everything unfold. They exchanged a look before leaving L Bistro together.
After getting into the car, Noelle turned to Cedric and said, "Looks like our plan is going smoothly."
Cedric smiled. "Indeed. Who would've thought Laura had a backup plan? It's a surprise to learn that she wants to take Mike's place and become Deputy President of PZ Group in our country.
"She really is ambitious, but that's perfect for us."
Noelle smiled as she said, "Exactly. If she replaces Mike, he must know a lot of inside information. That's when we make our move."
Her mood visibly brightened. It was as if fate had handed them the perfect opportunity.
Cedric gave a soft laugh. "Exactly."
"I guess we have to thank Laura for her ambition. Now I'm kind of rooting for her to succeed."
Cedric calmly said, "I'll make sure of it. If we're putting on a show, we'll make it complete. I'll ensure she gets her goals."
