Cedric's family doctor, Charles Allen, arrived shortly after and rewrapped Cedric's bandages. Thankfully, he didn't ask any questions.
Once Charles left, Noelle said, "I think I should head back to campus. Finals are coming up, and I want to do some last-minute cramming."
While her major courses weren't a problem for her, she still needed to review the other subjects.
Cedric held her hand. "What am I supposed to do when you're away?"
He gazed deeply at her, holding onto her with his uninjured hand and refusing to let go.
Noelle wondered how she had never realized how clingy he could be.
Cedric added, "I'll come pick you up later. Without you, I can't shower properly. You wouldn't want to see my hand get wet, would you?"
Noelle hesitated. "But you're so busy with work. Coming to pick me up would be such a waste of time."
He replied, "Picking you up is never a waste of time."
"But I don't want you to wear yourself out." Noelle looked at him and softened. "Let's see how it goes. If you're swamped with work, I'll come pick you up instead, and we can go home together."
Who said it always had to be the boyfriend picking up the girlfriend? She could pick up Cedric too.
Cedric broke into a bright smile. "Nelly, you're the best."
The two set off, and Cedric dropped her off at school first.
Noelle went straight to her dorm. Grace had already highlighted tons of review notes for her, and she needed to hit the books hard if she wanted to survive finals.
As soon as she walked in, Grace and Mia exchanged a knowing glance and both let out a teasing "ooh" sound.
Noelle looked at them and asked, "What are you two up to?"
Grace approached Noelle and patted the desk, "All of this highlighted material is prepared just for you."
"Thanks, babe."
Mia walked over, "You haven't been back for two days. You've been with your Cedric, right?"
