After all, the Greenes were in a mess because of Ruth.
Noelle pressed her lips together. "Winning that lawsuit wasn't easy."
Anastasia said, "I know. If it weren't for you and Cedric working together, Mrs. Merlock would've found a way to exploit the situation. Back then, she tried to marry Benjamin, but I was firmly against it. Thankfully, Benjamin wasn't blind either."
If Benjamin had actually married Ruth, the Greene family would've been in real trouble. Given how vicious Ruth was, she probably would've done everything in her power to get rid of Cedric and have her own children inherit the Greene family fortune.
Noelle stayed silent while listening.
Anastasia looked at her and said, "Luckily, you two were strong-minded and never stopped believing in each other. That's the only reason you made it through all this. I'm really proud of you, and I also want to apologize for the way I acted before. I was too quick to judge."
Noelle was caught off guard. "It's all fine."
"No. Talking things through is the only way to move on and start fresh." She reached out and held Noelle's hand. "From now on, you and Ced need to support each other, have a few more kids, and make the house lively again."
Noelle's cheeks flushed. That topic sure changed fast.
She honestly thought Anastasia would still be against them being together. After all, there was such a huge difference in status between their two families. While she was still dazed, something cool slid onto her wrist. It was a vibrant, emerald bracelet.
"Mrs. Greene Senior, this is too valuable. I can't accept it."
Anastasia gently patted her hand. "This is my gift to you. And from now on, you should be calling me Grandma."
Just then, Cedric walked in from outside, looking a little flustered. He blurted out, "Grandma, Noelle is my girlfriend. That's never going to change."
"I know. I just hope you remember that."
