No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 1186

The list of items were divided into several categories, ranging from antique ornaments to jewelry.

Noelle looked up and met the eyes of both Emma and Anastasia. She then gave the both of them a polite but slightly awkward smile.

Anastasia asked, "Found anything you like yet?"

Noelle replied, "I'm, uhh, still looking."

She could not decide on anything at all. She wondered if Anastasia was having trouble with spending her endless amount of money.

Emma spoke up. "Don't rush her, Mom. Let Noelle take her time to choose her gift later."

Anastasia replied, "You're right. We've got all the time in the world anyway. Noelle can take her time to pick something later."

She then turned to Noelle and continued, "There's still some time before dinner. Why don't I show you around for a bit? Cedric used to live here when he was younger, and I still kept a lot of his childhood belongings."

Emma nodded with a smile. "That's right. Cedric's birth mother wasn't in great health after she gave birth to him back then. Mom was worried that the housekeepers might not treat Cedric well, so she brought him here and looked after him herself."

Noelle was rather interested to hear about Cedric's childhood.

She looked at Emma and said, "You should get some rest, Mrs. Greene. I'll go look around with Grandma."

Emma nodded. "Alright. I'll go and see what the kitchen will be preparing for dinner later."

Anastasia was all smiles as she took Noelle's hand. "What a thoughtful girl you are. Let's go then."

Noelle turned back to look at Emma, and Emma waved back at her with a smile.

Emma was really happy that everything was proceeding smoothly.

Noelle followed Anastasia upstairs with a heavy heart. She hoped that Emma could be freed from her suffering in the near future.

Anastasia asked, "Noelle, is something on your mind?

Noelle replied, "No, Grandma. Let's go upstairs."
