Alec hesitated. "But…"

"No buts. Are you questioning me now? You idiots screwed this up beyond repair, so be glad I haven't killed you yet."

With that, the call ended abruptly.

One of the men looked at Alec and nervously asked, "What do we do now? Are we gonna kill Noelle?"

"You don't get it," Alec spat. "If we kill her, none of us is getting out of here alive. Now, we take the money and escape this place, so we're never going back to the scam center again."

Just then, another man returned with a suitcase. They popped it open to find wads of cash packed tight.

Alec let out a laugh. "This money is real, and that's all that matters now. If we go back, things aren't looking good for us either.

"Now that Ivy screwed us over and ruined our plans, going back means punishment or worse."

"Yeah. We're definitely going to get punished if we return to the scam center. If we'd pulled this clean, we'd have gone back as heroes and been promoted, but everything's ruined thanks to Ivy."

Suddenly, Alec's phone buzzed again.

"What do we do? If we don't follow our boss' order, won't they come for us, too?" one man anxiously asked.

"We're running out of time to kill Noelle, too!" Alec hissed.

When he picked up the call, Cedric's voice came through. "You got the suitcase, didn't you? Now, tell me where Noelle is."

Alec hesitated before saying, "She's hidden in an abandoned factory. Go find her yourself."

After hanging up, Cedric turned to Alfred and said, "They said she's in an abandoned factory, so go search for her."

He could barely contain his urgency to find Noelle right away, and as he stepped through the gate of the scenic spot, he ran right into Magnus.

Alfred asked, "The abductors confessed she's in the factory. Have you found it?"
