No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 1391

Magnus reassuringly said, "Don't worry, Ced. I'm sure we'll find Noelle soon."

But instead of responding, Cedric coldly asked, "Have we caught the abductors?"

"We did. Two of them are alive, while the other two are dead."

"Bring them here. I want them to wish they were dead." Moments later, the two surviving abductors were dragged in. Both of them were bleeding from gunshot wounds.

Upon seeing Cedric, Alec immediately started begging. "How could you go back on your word, Mr. Greene? You promised to let us go if we gave you your girlfriend!"

Magnus stepped up and kicked him viciously. "We searched that abandoned factory top to bottom, but no one was there! You lied!"

Alec hadn't expected them to move so fast either, and still, he stubbornly shot back. "Maybe you just didn't find her yet."

"Bullshit! I worked with local kingpins, so no way we couldn't have found her!"

"Tell us where Noelle is, and we might let you live," Alfred snapped as he glared at Alec.

"I don't believe you. I know what you're doing because if I talk, you'll kill me anyway."

Stepping forward, Cedric slammed his foot down on Alec's throat and questioned, "Why did you betray me?"

Alec froze under the weight of Cedric's cold stare. Finally, he stammered, "F-Fine… I'll speak."

Cedric kept his gaze locked on Alec as the latter continued, "I-It was an order from the boss of our scam center. But you did strike a deal with them, didn't you? Why would they want your girlfriend dead?"

His words had Cedric frowning and muttering, "Why would they do that?"

Alfred cut in. "That doesn't make sense. We've settled everything."

Alec snapped back, "Our boss doesn't take threats from anyone. Since Ms. Liddell was the key to Ivy messing everything up, the boss would never leave her alive."
