No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 1392

Magnus swept his gaze across the parking lot and suddenly asked, "Say… how did the abductors get here? They couldn't have walked or grabbed a cab because if they took a cab, there would've been traces."

"Magnus, what if they drove an unremarkable car or stole one and drove it here? Could they have parked it in this parking lot?"

Magnus' eyes widened as it clicked. "That makes sense! Search this parking lot now because if they did park their car here, Noelle's probably hidden in it."

They'd scoured the abandoned factories and every corner near the scenic spot, yet there had been no sign of Noelle. And as it had only been an hour since the ransom call, there was no way the abductors could have moved her far.

Just then, the Liddells arrived.

Magnus watched as Carl's car pulled into the parking lot. After getting out, the latter turned to Magnus and asked, "Any news?"

Magnus didn't care for the Liddells, but more manpower could help concerning Noelle's safety. So, he said, "We had a deal to exchange Noelle for the ransom they demanded, but the abductors backed out at the last second."

"How could they have suddenly backed out? What did you people do?" Carl questioned as he grabbed Magnus by the collar.

Shoving him back roughly, Magnus spat, "Hands off and show some respect! Ced has done everything possible, and he's the one in this world who wants her safe more than anyone!"

Blake stepped in between them. "Enough, Carl. We're all here for Noelle, so let's not fight each other now."

Straightening his jacket, Magnus murmured, "Now, that's more like it."

Blake tried to reason with him and asked, "Did you find anything else? We brought extra men and could probably help you search."

Magnus was about to brush him off when one of the street punks piped up. "We think there's a chance she's hidden in this parking lot."
