Carl glared at Magnus and announced, "No one can change Noelle's fate."
Cedric forced himself up and expressionlessly said, "Keep searching. She couldn't have gone far.
"Lock down every vehicle in and out of the parking lot and use every connection the Greene family has. I don't care how many people we offend, but we have to find her."
Carl watched Cedric as the latter strode away. In that moment, something changed in Cedric.
Magnus shoved Carl aside and snapped, "Get out of the way. None of you Liddells are worth a damn."
Carl was ready to fight back when Blake stopped him. "Enough. Let's not turn on each other because finding Noelle is a priority."
Frank pulled him back and chimed in, "Finding her comes first."
Reluctantly, Carl stepped back and snapped, "Just you wait. Once we find Noelle, I'll settle this with all of you."
Donovan stayed silent the entire time and watched Carl. Deep down, he'd never imagined that Carl could put on an act this convincing. Then again, Carl had always been different from the rest of them.
But to Donovan, it was enough that Carl kept his promise.
Soon, Cedric stormed back to where the surviving abductor was being held, fuming. "She wasn't in the van. Tell me where you moved her!"
"I don't know! I swear she was in the van!"
Cedric didn't hesitate to grab the man's hand and cleanly break a finger with a sickening snap. Then, he expressionlessly asked, "Now tell me—where is she?"
"Ah! I swear I don't know! She was in the van when we left, and we just wanted money! Killing her was pointless for us!"
After snapping another of the abductor's ribs, Cedric pressed. "Talk."
