Donovan spoke up. "Carl was just asking, that's all. He didn't mean anything with it."
Mia scoffed and replied, "Cedric gave up on everything just to find Noelle. He doesn't care even if the public will criticize him for it in the future. Everyone else but you guys would have the right to criticize him."
Blake tried to mediate. "That's not what we meant. Is there anything we can do? We'd like to help, too."
Carl spoke up. "How about we each guard a different road? We'll do a better job if we do it ourselves."
Blake nodded. "You're right. We'll keep watch over the roads even if we have to stay up through the night. We'll make sure that not even a single car gets past us."
Cedric turned to Eugene and asked, "How much do you know about the boss of the scam center?"
Eugene replied, "Not much, but I've already asked some of my friends overseas to help with the investigation. For a man like that, we probably shouldn't be expecting him to have any sort of morals."
Cedric's face turned grim. "I'm not letting that bastard off the hook once we find out who he is."
Noelle's sudden disappearance was most likely connected to the boss of the scam center. Alfred looked at everyone present and said, "Alright, let's move out and guard the exit at each of our assigned spots. I'll create a group chat so that we can all stay in touch."
He then created a WhatsApp group chat.
Blake asked Alfred for his contact information before adding the rest of the Liddells to the group chat.
Had the Liddells not taken the initiative, Cedric and his friends would not have bothered to add them to the group chat.
Carl took a look at the group chat before looking up at Blake. "Let's go."
Blake nodded in response.
Donovan walked beside Carl and waited until Cedric's group left before speaking up. "Carl and I will take one car. Blake, you go with Frank in another car. We'll guard the intersection with one in the front and one in the back."
