No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 1422

Mia knew what Samantha was talking about, but in truth, Xenia wasn't that woman's biological daughter—she was Ivy's. After that woman ran away, she was never heard from again, and no one ever found her.

Mia pressed. "So? Was that woman involved back then, too?"

Samantha carefully said, "My mom said the whole Quigley family was in on it, so that woman was, too. But she escaped abroad and ended up with some noble, supposedly living quite well."

"Which noble?"

Seeing Mia's clear interest, Samantha hesitated before saying, "I didn't ask back then, but if you really wanna know, I can ask my mom now. You'll have to pay a deposit first, though."

Mia stared at her for a second and nodded.

Soon enough, Samantha received a bank transfer and almost squealed in delight. "I'll ask her right now. Wait for my call, Ms. Cantrell!"

"I'll wait right here."

Mia had nothing urgent going on at the moment. She figured that if Ruth could cough up a helpful clue, she'd gladly pay for it.

As Noelle's best friend, she knew how badly Noelle wanted justice for her parents. The Quigley family was rotten to the core, and they all deserved to rot in prison.

Meanwhile, Samantha hummed happily as she headed into the visiting room.

Ruth looked surprised to see her. "Didn't we agree on another day? What are you doing here now?"

In truth, Ruth wished Samantha would visit her more often, but the latter always claimed she was too busy. If not for the hidden stash of money Ruth still controlled, she knew Samantha probably wouldn't bother showing up.

After taking her seat, Samantha coolly said, "I came to visit Laura today, so I figured I'd drop by to see you too."

"Laura's just an idiot I raised all these years for nothing. Look at Noelle! She's got Cedric wrapped around her finger and now controls half of Yasnia!"

Ruth still couldn't let go. She was convinced that she wouldn't be rotting in prison now if her daughters had been more capable.
