No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 622

"If Mia does nothing, she'll end up being used and discarded," Noelle said. It was just like how her past life had been.

She fell deep in thought and calculated her next steps. Then, she glanced at Grace. "You can still back out now if you want to."

"Do I look like someone who'd ditch my friends?" Grace retorted. She might be a little cowardly, but she still wanted to help.

An hour later, Noelle and Grace set off for Hexagon Hotel, which was booked by the Cantrells for the occasion.

By the time they arrived, luxury cars were lined up for a long queue outside, and their cab stood out like a sore thumb. Even the cab driver couldn't help but glance at them in the rearview mirror and wonder if they were here to cause trouble.

But Noelle remained unfazed and thick-skinned. She stepped out with Grace and walked toward the entrance.

"Noelle, do you crash every party you see? This banquet is for the elite society and Cantrell family relatives. Who do you think you are?" Samantha's voice rang out behind them.

She was holding her designer handbag with arrogance as she shot Noelle a look. "Laura and Cedric are the perfect match, while a country bumpkin like you should stop daydreaming.

"If you're gonna be a mistress, know your place. Laura is the top socialite in Yasnia!"

Ever since learning Cedric was seeing Noelle, Samantha had been seething with rage and urging to kill the latter. She would've long made her move if it weren't for Laura stopping her.

Noelle remained expressionless as she'd expected a drama like this today.

Grace couldn't help but fire back. "Mistress? Watch your mouth. The Greenes have long clarified there's no engagement between Cedric and Laura, and you're the ones shamelessly clinging on!"

Samantha lifted a hand to slap Grace, but Noelle caught her wrist midair and warned, "If you make a scene, you'll be on tomorrow's headlines. Go ahead and try it."

Samantha gritted her teeth in anger and turned to the security guards. "She's trying to sneak in. Don't let her inside."

A guard stepped forward. "Please leave."
