Grace continued, "I'm talking about you! You're nothing but a pathetic lapdog for some two-faced bitch while you mistreat your own sister!
"You're not even worthy of calling yourself Noelle's brother! So drop it with that whole big brother act! Your entire family's a goddamn circus!"
Noelle smiled and led Grace away by the hand. With so many people around, she felt it best not to cause a commotion.
Wyatt was fuming after being insulted. "Donovan, did you see that? Did you see Noelle's attitude? Why do you still bother pleasing her with the dress that Xenia likes?"
"I'll say it again. The dress belongs to Noelle herself. I didn't give it to her," Donovan replied.
There were plenty of wealthy folks in Yasnia, after all, and Donovan's connections alone were not enough for him to get his hands on that particular dress.
Xenia spoke up softly, "Noelle must have gotten help from Ms. Cantrell. I mean, Ms. Cantrell never really liked me in the first place."
Donovan agreed that it was most likely Mia. "No matter what it is, you mustn't offend Mia in any capacity. Otherwise, I'm kicking all of you out of the family."
Xenia forced a smile. "Don't worry, Donovan."
She wanted to put on a good show with such a great opportunity that day to meet more people from high society, as she really did not want to end up marrying a loser like Wyatt. With their own agendas in mind, the Liddell family members all entered the banquet hall.
Noelle and Grace strolled around the hall before heading to pick up some snacks. They did not really know anyone there to stay around for conversation after all.
Samantha approached them with a group of her friends, including Xenia. "Hey, it's the country bumpkins! Just as I expected, you can only ever find them at the food bar. How shameless!"
Noelle instinctively pulled Grace behind her and stared at Samantha. "So the food bar is only for country bumpkins, huh? I'll have to ask Mrs. Cantrell why she bothered setting up something so beneath your standards, Ms. Merlock."
Samantha's expression immediately shifted. "You wouldn't dare! I was just saying that the presence of country bumpkins like you have brought down the quality of this banquet."
