Noelle, who was as calm as ever, looked at Samantha and asked, "You're saying I stole your emerald bracelet? Where's your proof?"
"What proof do I need? I just went to the food bar for a moment, and my bracelet was gone!
"At that time, the two of you outsiders were the only people around the food bar! If it wasn't you who took it, then who else could it be?" Samantha roared.
She sounded extremely confident, practically declaring that Noelle was the thief.
Mia was the first to speak up in response. "Are you out of your mind, Samantha? I was at the food bar, too! Are you calling me a thief as well?"
Samantha snorted. "Of course not. You couldn't possibly be lacking jewelry. But I can't say the same for some other folks, such as country bumpkins, who had never seen such valuable items before."
Mia was furious, her face turning red. "Samantha, I'll have you leave my birthday banquet if you keep spouting such nonsense! You're not welcome here!"
Just then, Salena stepped forward and glanced at Mia. "Mind your words, Mia. Samantha is a guest of our family. How could you say something so rude to her? You're being too childish."
Mia's eyes turned bloodshot with anger. "But Noelle and Grace are the friends that I invited here! Samantha just accused them of being thieves in front of everyone! Isn't that too much?"
Everyone present knew exactly what kind of person Samantha was.
Salena looked at Noelle with a hint of contempt in her gaze. "Mia, you shouldn't blame Samantha for suspecting so, given the circumstances. She's just asking Noelle whether she has seen an emerald bracelet, that's all."
Noelle knew that Salena had never thought highly of her since the very beginning. Given the case, she could also tell that Salena did not highly approve of Donovan being married to Mia.
Something was definitely off.
Noelle looked at Salena and smirked. "Since you've already put it that way, I'll answer the question. No, I didn't see any emerald bracelets."
With that, Salena's expression visibly darkened as if unsatisfied with Noelle's response. It was not like Noelle was supposed to admit to something she never did in the first place.
