Noelle turned and saw Cedric. A smile formed on her lips. He had arrived.
However, Donovan scoffed. "Noelle, if you're going to call for backup, at least bring someone useful. What's the point of calling in this loser?"
A man with no power or status wouldn't change anything.
Noelle chuckled. "Looks like Mrs. Cantrell didn't tell you the truth."
"What do you mean?" Donovan shook off Cedric's grip and turned around, only to realize that Salena was nowhere to be seen. That struck him as odd.
"I meant the so-called patent application you submitted only covers the appearance of the product. But what about the internal technical configurations? They're completely different."
Cedric tossed out a document. "This is the actual patent I investigated. Reporters, feel free to take a look."
Donovan's face fell at the patent information. How did this useless doctor actually manage to get his hands on the application so quickly?
Donovan forced a smile. "That's only because my dear sister Noelle betrayed me. She ran off to Maple Enterprise and rushed to register the patent first."
So, this was his argument.
Cedric was unfazed. "It's funny that you said that. Are you saying that your company never applied for a patent, even when Noelle left? And only after she spent months developing her research and filing for one do you suddenly want to claim the exact same thing?"
The reporters began murmuring among themselves.
Cedric continued, "The truth is, your company never had the capability to develop it. Otherwise, why didn't you apply for the patent first?"
Donovan's face twisted in anger. He turned to the event planner. "I think it's time to remove these troublemakers. This man is spouting nonsense."
Security guards immediately stepped forward and surrounded Noelle and Cedric.
Donovan lowered his voice and sneered. "You're just a broke doctor, yet you run your mouth like a lawyer. Maybe you should switch careers. It might pay better."
