Xenia warned, "Don't listen to Noelle. If the reporters catch anything, they'll twist the story."
Wyatt hesitated but ultimately gave up on checking his leg. However, the discomfort persisted, and the pain intensified. He turned to Xenia.
"Xenia, I think I need to rest for a bit."
"We still have a group photo and interviews coming up. Just hold on for now. We can't leave yet." Xenia had no intention of giving Noelle the satisfaction of seeing them struggle.
Wyatt understood her reasoning and lowered his voice. "Then can I at least sit in a wheelchair for a while?"
"Wyatt, you're finally able to stand. Why would you need a wheelchair?" Xenia clung to his arm. "Don't let Noelle's words get to you. Our company's product is the best.
"There won't be any issues. Come on, let's go."
Noelle glanced at Wyatt's forehead, where sweat was already forming. They were clear signs of discomfort.
It made sense. In her past life, Xenia had been envious of Noelle's role in the AI project and forced her way onto the research team. Wyatt was the first to test the prototype back then, but it was extremely uncomfortable to wear.
Noelle had stepped in and insisted on swapping the prototype, only to be accused of trying to steal credit from Xenia. Even Wyatt had backed Xenia, claiming there was nothing wrong with her design.
This time, Noelle chose to stand back and watch. She was curious to see just how much Wyatt was willing to endure for his so-called true love.
As Xenia and Wyatt walked away, the reporters immediately turned their cameras toward them. Xenia basked in the attention, maintaining an elegant and poised smile. Now that Justin had broken up with her and blocked all her contacts, her only remaining opportunity lay with the Liddell family.
One of the reporters asked, "Ms. Quigley, we've heard that the head of technology at Maple Enterprise is your sister. Given that your two companies are competitors, why do the prototypes look so similar?"
"Of course, we know our product inside and out, " Xenia said with a sorrowful expression. "But Noelle, something stolen will never truly be yours. If you keep going down this path, no one will be able to save you once things escalate."
Just then, Donovan stepped forward and faced Noelle. "Xenia is right. Turn back now, and I won't hold you accountable for leaking trade secrets."
Noelle met their gazes coldly. "You people are absolutely shameless."
"Noelle, how did you turn out like this?" Donovan patted her head with feigned disappointment. "I really miss the obedient sister you used to be."
"Don't touch her!" A hand suddenly grabbed Donovan's wrist, stopping him mid-motion.
Cedric's gaze darkened as he tightened his grip. "Get your filthy hands off her."
