No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 834

Cedric's gaze sharpened at his phone. He immediately called Alfred. "We can start closing in on the Merlocks."

"Are you finally making a move? Honestly, do you think the Merlocks would have acted so arrogantly for so many years if it weren't for your mother?

"I'm glad to see you've finally had enough. Well done," Alfred said.

As Cedric's closest friend, Alfred knew exactly the kind of people the Merlocks were behind closed doors. It was about time for Cedric to finally take action.

Cedric stood by the windows, staring out. "I've tolerated the Merlocks this long only because Mrs. Merlock would keep my mother happy. But the Merlocks are ungrateful. It's time to deal with them."

He didn't want people from the Merlock family hanging around his mother any longer. Who knew what they would manipulate her into doing next?

Alfred's voice came through the phone again. "So Noelle's going to find out soon that you were in that car, too."

Cedric sighed. "Yes."

"Well, she'll have to find out eventually. But I'd suggest waiting until you have evidence before telling her. I think she'll understand."

Alfred felt resentful toward the Merlocks every time this came up. They were vicious to drag Cedric into this when they were worried their crimes would be discovered.

Unfortunately, Ruth's plan had worked. The Greene family had been forced to deal with the aftermath. That was the only reason the Merlocks had stayed safe all these years.

Cedric gripped his phone. "I know."

Alfred consoled him, "Don't overthink it. The worst that could happen is that you have to work harder to win her back. I believe Nelly will be moved by you."

"I hope so." But Cedric wasn't confident. His whole life had been smooth sailing, and he had never feared anything this much.
