Noelle glanced at Cedric. Compared to her previous life, she had already gained so much more in this one. She was content.
When Cedric heard her say that one shouldn't be too greedy, his eyes shifted, but he didn't say anything. Soon, the car pulled up outside the school.
Noelle looked out the window. "I'm here."
Cedric stopped her. "Noelle."
"What is it?" She turned and saw him leaning over to kiss her.
Noelle's face flushed red as she pushed him away. "What are you doing? I haven't said yes to you yet."
Cedric grinned. "Then I'll just be your secret boyfriend."
Noelle teased, "Wouldn't that be unfair for the almighty Mr. Greene?"
Cedric licked his lips and stared at her intently. "Not at all."
At least he could still sneak some kisses and hugs to satisfy himself. So what if he wasn't her lover yet? She would be his sooner or later.
Unable to handle the intense atmosphere inside the car, Noelle quickly opened the door and fled. If she stayed any longer, she wasn't sure what might happen.
Cedric watched her walk into the school before finally rolling down the window. The cool night breeze helped him calm down. Then, he called Alfred.
"There's something I need you to look into. Check the deal between Donovan and PZ Group. See if there's anywhere we can intervene."
Alfred was shocked. "What do you mean? PZ Group's contracts are always cutthroat. They tend to target companies at their weakest point. Liddell Corporation is doomed. Are you planning to step in and help?"
Cedric remained calm. "The company was founded by my father and mother-in-law. It shouldn't just be sold off like that."
If PZ Group acquired the company, they would likely split it up and sell the shares.
He wasn't going to let Liddell Corporation end up like that.
