Noelle finally realized why Donovan had the audacity to pull something this shameless. She considered calling the police, but was worried it might escalate the situation. So, she decided to call Frank.
He answered in a surprised and cheerful tone. "Noelle! What's the occasion? Why are you calling me?"
"Donovan took Mia. Do you know if he's made some kind of arrangement with the Cantrells?"
Frank hesitated, then let out a sigh. "So… you found out?"
"I'm warning you. If anything happens to Mia, I won't let any of you off the hook," she said. After all, Mia wasn't just anyone—she was her closest friend.
Frank replied, "I tried to talk him out of it, but the truth is Liddell Corporation is in really bad shape. If you could convince Cedric to invest, even just a little, I'm sure Donovan would back off."
Noelle couldn't believe what she was hearing. She laughed bitterly. "How can you even suggest something that disgusting with a straight face?"
The Liddells never failed to lower the bar on shamelessness.
Frank sighed again. "It's honestly the best solution right now. That way, Mia wouldn't get hurt either, right?"
"And why the hell should the Greene family bail out Liddell Corporation?"
He reasoned, "Noelle, I'm saying this for your own good. This would solve your current problem, wouldn't it?"
She let out a cold snort. "I already told Donovan I know where Xenia is. I offered to trade the info for Mia, and he still refused. All of you pretend to care about others, but you're nothing but selfish liars."
Frank tried to defend himself. "The company was founded by our parents, too. It matters just as much."
Noelle was done listening, and she hung up without another word. Now that she saw the Liddells were all just as corrupt, she had no intention of wasting any more time on them.
Still, her frustration only grew. She couldn't believe they shared the same last name—it was downright humiliating.
Noelle didn't hesitate. She turned to Ryan and said, "Something urgent came up. I've handled all the current issues, and I'll send a breakdown for the rest later."
