No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 850

"Mia? How would I know where she is?" Salena had no intention of admitting anything.

She had poured a lot of money into this investment, and if she couldn't at least break even, there was no way she could justify it to the family.

Noelle slammed the cup out of Salena's hand. "Don't act like I don't know about the deal between you and Donovan. What you're doing is illegal."

Salena retorted, "Ms. Liddell, so you do know it's illegal. Funny, considering how long you've had Mrs. Merlock locked up."

At that, Noelle's expression turned cautious.

"What's wrong? Surprised I know about that, too?"

Noelle straightened her back. She supposed it wasn't that shocking since everyone connected to the Merlocks likely knew already. Moreover, getting the intel wouldn't have been hard for someone like Salena.

Salena crossed her arms. "Ms. Liddell, this is a family matter. I suggest you stop meddling. Escort her out."

Noelle hissed, "Is that a threat?"

"You can take it that way. Just because you're young and have someone powerful backing you doesn't mean you can do whatever you want. If you don't want Cedric getting dragged into trouble because of you, I suggest you keep your mouth shut."

There it was—no sugarcoating. Salena's warning was crystal clear.

Noelle was fuming. She clenched her teeth and growled, "I'm not giving up that easily."

Then, she turned and stormed out. Salena watched her leave with a sneer. "That's who Cedric's into? I don't see the appeal."

Donovan stepped out from behind a nearby wall. "Noelle has always been impressive."
